Yep, until you get a certain item that allows you to save anywhere.

He does?? Well I did zoom through his crappy speech. I was too busy paying attention to your sig at the moment though...

Don't worry about metal slimes, they don't become a threat until games that had fights against more than 1 enemy at a time.

I love this game so much. It has an all-star cast such as the Axe Knight, the Dragon, and the Golem.

You'll learn to FEAR starwyverns, too. And doesn't the Tantegel Castle music kick all sorts of ass?

Should I go get it?

Yes, yes you should, right now. I love both the NES and GB Color versions. I'm sure I would love the SF version too if I could read Japanese. :)

Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest) was for the NES. Notice how I said original...

I'm holding out to find a complete w/ box copy. I could easily just get one of many loose copies at EB Games or Pre-Played, but that's no fun. I hate all you people who throw out manuals.

*Has the cartridge and a little magazine strategy thingy that might have come with the game or maybe an issue of Nintendo Power. Or maybe maybe before Nintendo Power was a magazine and just a newsletter.*

I have 6 different carts for this game. I wasn't the one who bought them all, though. My sister bought 4 of them. For some reason she likes to buy backup of backup NES carts. I also have 4 Wizards & Warriors II: Ironswords, one of which was purchased with a giant crack through the side of it.

The only NES game I have two of is FF, but that's because I wanted to have more than one party going at a time.

The overworld song in the first Dragon Warrior will always have a place in my heart as one of my friends and I growing up would make up lyrics to it...that always seemed to involve guacamole. xD

great.... now every time I hear that song I'm going to hear a bunch of 6 year olds screaming "guacamole!" in tune to the song...
