I've noiced, after checking out the the info about FF2 on this site, that FF2 has ixed names for the main playable characters. I'm looking for a version thats true to the original (but still english) and all I can find are what seem like fan translations, but they all give me the otion of inserting my own names of characters in the beginning - so they must be fakes or something.
Any suggestions? Ive tried a NES and GBA version.

Like most of the games in the series, FFII gives you the option of naming the main characters even though they have pre-existing intended names.

But the rest of the game will be true to the original?
I have the Neo Demiforce version.
Is there a better version than the NES? Is the WSC version better?
EDIT: Do they still have their predefined special abilities in the NEODEMI version?

Having the option to change their names IS true to the original.
The PS and GBA versions are the best.
The Neo Demiforce translation is just that--a translation. They didn't change any of the mechanics of the game.

Demi's translation is pretty close to the Dawn of Souls translation, I can only think of one spot where it really differs.
