Has anyone noticed that in FF games Angels seam to represent evil
Keffka and Spehiroth Resemble angels and the end of the game
A Pornographic Child Angel is what finnishes off your KOd characters against Ultimeica
Sephiroth's "Heartless Angel" reduces you to 1 HP
Zidane Was refered to be a "Death Angel" (He failled)
rather that good on FF games (With the expetion of certain "Life" Spells)

So what's the deal with this? Why Angels when most people are used to them being represented with inocence?

Rinoa had the angel motif in ff8. She wasn't evil too much once they stopped possessing her.

Aeris' Great Gospel also had an angel motif.

Perhaps you should consider the differences between angels and fallen angels...

I agree. Angels, both good and evil, are represented in mythology, and are thus reflected in FF (being a game which bases itself a great deal on mythology). The "fallen angel" is a strong archtype which appears in many stories, including FF.

Pornographic child angel? Those were cherubs, and cherubs are typically naked. Naked children shouldnt immediatly invoke thoughts of pornography, that's rather disturbing.

The girls covered it all pretty well, but I will add that these games are coming from a nation that isnt strongly rooted in Christianity (nothing wrong with that, mind you). They use Christian imagery a lot, in toys, games, and anime, and often incorrectly. Final Fantasy games are usually pretty spot on in their use of angelic imagery, however.

Remember that Angel's appeared to reanimate your characters back in the day. They're not all bad.

Ive noticed this myself.

Tales of Symphonia anyone?

Angels, Fallen Angels, Dark Angels, most villains seem to related to angels, it's strange
