View Full Version : No Feedback for Me

-N-
10-04-2005, 05:15 AM
My most recent tomfooleries in this place and my subsequent repentance has made me think about such an idea. Can we create a usergroup to be banned from the Feedback Forum for a specified amount of time?

However, that might lead way to a "silence-the-critics" Nazism.

Anyways, discuss.

Nic

It would motivate me to post a few more times. :(

RSL

Should we make a No "insert forum here' for me usergroup for every forum? It seems silly just to make a usergroup like that for one forum.

Yamaneko
10-04-2005, 05:25 AM
How about you think about what you're going to post before you post it and deem it post-worthy or garbage? I think then we could avoid 59318402194031 different user groups designed to baby-sit you guys.

-N-
10-04-2005, 05:26 AM
That seems like an extraneous procedure.

eestlinc
10-04-2005, 05:29 AM
we could just strip your RM title.

Believe me, we've discussed 'no feedback for me' already.

Yamaneko
10-04-2005, 05:30 AM
Yes, I agree with eest. Followed by "No EoFF for me".

Raistlin
10-04-2005, 05:30 AM
Hmmm...if I still was an RM, how many times would I have had it stripped from me by now?

EDIT: Yamsy, you're no fun. Be we love you anyway.

eestlinc
10-04-2005, 05:31 AM
fortunately we don't have to discuss that possibility.

-N-
10-04-2005, 05:36 AM
Ask Necro about the effectiveness of that threat.

Kinda shameful you resort to it, really.

Raistlin
10-04-2005, 05:37 AM
*sighs*

Neel, it was a joke. I don't think eest expected you to go "omg, I better be good or they'll strip my RM title!"

eestlinc
10-04-2005, 05:39 AM
i know you'd be crushed if you couldn't close your own threads anymore!

but being an RM is kinda neat and you probably shouldn't do too much to piss us off.

-N-
10-04-2005, 05:40 AM
That's true - pissing people off is dumb. Good thing I never do that at all. ;)

Raistlin
10-04-2005, 05:42 AM
Being Former Staff is cooler, since it's not like they can change the fact that I'm a former staff member. xD

Though I guess I could still lose the title, but it'd be kind of pointless, as I have yet to close any of my own threads, and I've been an RM/FS for several years now. Hmm...can I make one last "_____ Feedback" thread and close it again, just for kicks? :D

-N-

This sparked an interesting thought. Or at least, I found it interesting. Or maybe I'm a self-indulgent whore. Probably the latter. (http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=71359)

eestlinc
10-04-2005, 05:44 AM
Raist, it is possible for you to do it, so I can't really stop you, unless I drunk tank you or something.

Neel, you don't piss me off, but I think you make Yams cry. However, this was all probably a plot to get Yams to do more staffing.

Raistlin
10-04-2005, 05:50 AM

Why don't you just give everyone who posts porn "No html or vb tag for me" Flaming? "No using negative words for me" Spamming? "One post per hour for me"

I remember the days when we didn't have people who caused such controversy (trolls), people who claimed not to be trolls (trolls) and trolls (trolls). Or maybe it was just that nobody really cared when such people got banned without a highly detailed reasoning backed up with at least five different pieces of evidence. I remember the days when if someone was giving us trouble, we'd edit porn into their posts and ban them for it. I remember the days, oh yes, I do.

But seriously, it would be kinda cool if we could go nazi-styles and just ban whoever was giving us a headache. That was neat.

Whatever happened to banning dumbasses when they smurf up!
It'd eventually cause mutiny. Probably among people we want to get rid of anyway, but we don't want a bad (worse?) reputation.

We ban one guy. Someone calls us a nazi regime hellbent on banning etc. He doesn't let up, so we ban him. Other people say "omg he was right they banned him for the TRUTH" and don't let up, so we ban them. And so on and so forth.

Would we lose valued members? Doubtful. We just have to make it look like it's all happy-happy-joy-joy all the time and be nice to the dumbasses so the staff doesn't look like a bunch of jerks.

:monster:

MecaKane
10-04-2005, 08:41 PM
But WHY?
For new members? Anyone who's not a dumbass would see that you're only banning dumbasses and they'd be like "damn, this place isn't going to suck! *join join join*"

That whole "trying to explain your actions" thing is probably a big part of your problem. Pick one person on staff to be the cranky, seemingly ban-hungry ogre, and have him or her take care of all that. I don't know how you can get along without one.

maybe if you hadn't left staff there would still be one. or are you back on staff now? I don't even know anymore.

banned from just this forum or temp-banned from EoFF as a whole? or punished with usernote bans? not that I'm fearing obtaining any of these bans, since I post like once a day.

It's all PR and beaurocratic nonsense. You people have ruined our happy dictatorship!

But I don't think it unreasonable to have to gather evidence before banning, it's the only way we can have anything close to a fair forum.

Yamaneko
10-05-2005, 06:32 AM
I don't mind doing the banning because most people think I'm a big joke, so by the time they figure out I've banned them I will be laughing all the way home.
