Do you remember the event were laguna is dressed as a knight and saved the princess from ruby dragon?

Laguna even wield his sword like seifer...and its the first thing laguna used a sword in FF8

What if laguna uses both his machine gun and gunblade that would be cool

And his limit break would be "Cross Despirado" hehe
he throws a grenade then fire at them then cast a spell like seifer does in his limit break.

I'm just wondering how did laguna knew that technique?
Laguna and Seifer haven't met in the past right?

Well, this is purely speculation (excepting that it was stated that it was for a movie), but Laguna was doing it for a movie--The Sorceress' Knight, I think. So, I bet that Seifer probably watched it when he was younger, and might have even based his style on it.

Alternatively, gunblade styles are gunblade styles, and he just picked the same one, but I like the first idea more. Also, Laguna mentions that gunblades were covered in basic training, but he didn't actually use them.

Actually, this has been brought up before. I will reiterate my explanation:

Laguna said that he hadn't wielded one since basic training. This would imply that gunblade use is at least briefly explained in the G-Army basic training. The stance that the G-Army teaches is probably a fairly standard gunblade stance (it is also probably one of the easiest to learn). So it is the same stance that Seifer uses. Squall uses a different stance. Assuming that Laguna and Seifer are the only two people to use a particular stance even though Laguna said he was taught in basic training is silly.

The main problem with the movie idea is that the camera man ran away before the combat between Laguna and the Dragon actually began, so Seifer couldn't have seen Laguna fight in the movie.

Yeah I've wondered about that too...

..... Cool. I never noticed that....
Hmmm... Is Seifer really that stupid that he would've based half of his fighting on some movie? Rrriiigghhhttt...
I also agree on the point that the gunblade use that Laguna knew was based on basic training which he learnt in the army.

I hadn't considered that, Skyblade, and you're probably right, though I do think they probably finished the movie at some point, off-screen. I don't recall how they wrapped that up, but it's an idea I'm fond of. I think you're right, though, in that Seifer and Laguna weren't unique in that fighting style, especially considering that Seifer is a specialist while Laguna...isn't a gunblade specialist.

And, for the record, I hadn't meant to say that he'd have based his entire fighting style off of the movie but that he might have taken some inspiration from it, given that being the Knight was his dream, and all, and it's implied in the game that he was drawn to that kind of book, movie, and so on. So, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't call me stupid for expressing an idea that wasn't entirely baseless, UnlimitedBlueSky.

Probably, but not with Laguna. If you remember, Laguna ran off with Kiros and found the Lunatic Pandora at the end of that scene. I doubt they'd go back to the filming after that.

Actually, the Ultimania has confirmed that Laguna DID play in the movie called "The Sorceress Knight", and that Seifer WAS inspired by Lagunas character.

The Ultimania guides are wrong half the time. It's doubtful that Laguna had any time to film the rest of it.

Uhh, no offense, but do you have any idea what you're talking about?

The Ultimania Guides are written by the creators of the game you know, so the information comes straight from the horses mouth. This isn't like the Brady Games crappy guide, you know.

Anyway, it's not like Laguna went running off to the Lunatic Pandora when he saw it. He had to continue earning money, which meant continuing with the film. You people act as if he had to finish the film in the course of the flashback or it couldn't have happened!

Bottom line is that Square says he finished the film, and that's that.

Seeing this title, I guess Seifer will be the first one to watch it since he yearn so much to be a knight.

Oh... Sorry about that.. I didn't mean calling you stupid. I tend to write what comes up in my mind and not really think about what I'm writing until afterwards (which actually in't such a good thing), so sometimes I end up writing stuff I didn't mean...

Ages ago I did a similar thread to this. I said stuff like it was probebly made into a movie (Though It may not of been Laguna himslef acting in the end) and that Seifer saw this movie and conciderd these stances wherejust genuine Soercery Knight stuf.
