what were they're main purpose in the game? I can't quite remember lol thanks for help ^^

O.o good question....

i'm curious too lol. something about edea's seeds of the future. all i remember is that they were slaughtered by ulti in the end.

Weren't they an elite group of SeeDs specifically for combating the sorceresses ?

They were Edea's SeeD--at least, that's what they called themselves. (As opposed to Cid and Garden's mercenaries, I suppose.) Their main function in the game was to protect Ellone.

They had a sailing ship so they wouldn't stay in any one place for too long. It kind of vanishes once you get the Ragnarok.

So really they are a mystery to us all.....^^ hehe they're like ninjas!!!! okay....they're not but Im portraying them as ninjas.

They were rather mysterious, but I got the impression that they were just a floating Garden, charged with the regular SeeD mission of defending agaisnt the sorceress, but also with protectign and rearing Edea's orphans (the Centra orphanage is not exactly up to code). The White SeeD themselves were orphans raised by Edea:
Squall
"You guys call her Matron too, huh?"

White SeeD Leader
"Yes. Ever since we were little."

So perhaps "Edea's SeeD" was a literal meaning; that unlike Gardens who recruit outsiders, all of the White SeeD are "children" of Edea.
