Is it just me or have usernotes become a useless outlet for spam?

Loony BoB

I don't really like 'em much, Yams I believe is openly against them, but overall I guess they aren't doing any real harm. At least I don't think they are.

HURRAY HURRAY ANOTHER USER NOTE BASHING THREAD! My favourite! :)

If the spam doesn't go in user notes, it'll go elsewhere, ruining good discussion topics and even bad discussion topics. If it upsets you or offends you, then don't go on them and be thankful that they are the floodgates protecting your humble and fragile little world from a tidal wave of spam.

If the usernotes do get removed, I assure you, we will be no more (or less) tolerant of in-thread spam.

It doesn't matter how tolerant you are, because people are always going to break rules regardless. And if the tolerance levels won't change, does this mean that there will be no punishment for spamming as the current punishment for spamming is a user note banning? :D

How come anytime somebody mentions HOORJ, somebody has to mention HOOTERS, and vice versa? They were two very different posters, the only similiarities being that they both got banned for spamming and both of their names start with HOO. I'm changing my name to HOOTHROWER so anytime one of them is mentioned, I'll be brought into the conversation. ;)

Someone who completely ignores dozens of warnings - no matter how entertaining the result - can't be tolerated. It wasn't as if he did one or two things, other people laughed, and he was banned for it. From what I've heard, he was warned constantly, and consistently decided to ignore staff. He fully deserved the result.

The "will of the majority" here do not set the rules. Cid does, and by his authority, so do Staff.
