Graphics Competition - Stage One

Well, this is something I haven't seen here in a while. hehe.

About a month ago, me and Kamiko came up with the idea to start a graphics competition, unfortunately Behold the Void had a competition already going so we asked for permission to start after he'd finished his. Guess what! IT'S NOW HERE.

The main purpose of this competition, is to highlight the extraordinary skills of our talented Graphics Artists on the forums.

The way we will present this will be in the form of a sig request.

The first stage will merely be a guideline as to what we will be doing. I leave it up to you guys to give idea's on what the sigs should be of. Please bear in mind, these are going to be guidelines and categories. Not the sigs themselves. All I ask of you, is to put a category up such as "Games: FF8" or "Music: Metallica" as such. This will be up for 1 week, where we will then ask for voting.

In order to start the actual graphics creations, we are narrowing it down to 2 categories.

This is how the competition will be done when we have the categories in order:

Each contestant will choose between the two Categories. In each category there will be a task. This task will be in the form of a signature request.
The contestants must then take note of the instructions / the small biography of "who" they are creating this graphic for (as such, if it was a guy, you wouldn't put pink in the sig).
Once all sigs are submitted they will then be put up for voting.

The reason we will have 2 categories, is to give the competition more of a challenge. Most people will have to do the same thing, but it gives the opportunity to show off their talent, and show who is more creative in the graphics area.

(When submitting a category, we are asking for a certain thing, such as "Games: Final Fantasy 8", "Films: FF7:AC", "Music: Metallica". We are looking for narrowed down categories. Not one that can have a thousand things for it.

I just think that the skills of the graphic artists in this forum can really be expanded if the competition included a little bit more than just signatures.

As this is going to be a sig competition and the sigs wont be useable, I think we may rise the limit a little, other than that I don't think so. As long as people know that these sigs are for show only and not for actual use I don't think we have to stick within EoFF's limits, BUT we will have limits for you to follow.

Hay Tiff I already told you I would do this and you said it would be okay :(

If I still can, I'll put votes for: Final Fantasy, Sunsets, Trees, Lake's, Animal's.

I think these are the only fair choices, as i'm pretty sure we're all FF fans to some degree here, and the rest is just natural world so you have a large range of things to choose from and possible sigs. Also it'd seem somewhat unfair for say, someone who loathes Amy Lee with a passion to have to make a sig using her face. So yeah, those choices seem fairest to me. And also Natural world is just suave anyway.

Okay, Tiff (Lenna) is going through a moving situation at the moment, so I'm taking over in her absence.
(Yes, she told me I could. No she wasn't under the influence)
So here's the deal.
Out of the catagories Lenna just gave you, select 5.
That's 5 ONLY.
Not 5 out of each catagory.
We only want 5 subcatagories submitted.
If they aren't the ones you want, you've missed the boat.
The only people submitting full catagories were Rye and FF 10 girl, so some of those are just things Tiff came up with.
I don't know if anyone else submitted catagories, but those were the only full lists.
So of those, pick the 5 you want the most and PM them to me.
Within a week, all your catagories should be submitted. Or when 5 people have submitted anyway.
I'll also be PMing you to make sure you're still competing and stuff, so keep up with us, we should be getting into the full swing soon.
