Hey,
I got the eidos ff7 platinum edition and was trying to install it on my system, and it seems it wont even go all the way through the installation. It gets about 65% of the way through and gives me a message that FF7 uses the most updated drivers for my gfx card (geforce fx 5700). From what I've read on the eidos site, FF7 doesnt even support my chipset without a patch. I've tried the most updated drivers, I've tried drivers that support both the TNT chipset and mine, and nothing works. I've run the patch, I've dl'd and run the FF7 winxp patch, and still the damn thing wont even complete the installation. When I try to open the game after it quits and I patch it, all I get is a black screen. Sometimes if I wait long enough I'll get the "new game" box to come up but that's as far as I get. I know there is someone in this world that is crazy enough about FF to have gotten this to work. Has anyone here run into this problem?
