i dont know if you can make trivias here but me and my buddies are making a game, and we cant decide to make a FF6-2, or FF6- War of the magi, so vote! ill say that the ff6-2 is supposed to be 30 years(LOL) after the whole FF6 and the main character after the 1/2 game she turns to the bad side, OK now for the FF WoM, We can put in life the project of the love Madonna-Maduin, How the espers were sealed in the world of humans and hunted down to suck up their life force, speaking of worlds, we could create the own Esper world! where maduin and other espers would recover cities taken by the empire, and many many others, what do you think? I myself am for the WoM project,

And now Vote! just 1 poste with the name of the game and why(simple sentences) and if you would like you could mail me (lionheart@wp.pl) if you would like to help with writing the story etc,

Greetz!

oh and about FF6-2, the characters would be like sons or daughters of edgar and the others, relm would have like 40 years so she could be there too, but most of the characters from the original FF6 would just be NPC's

i know the story,... the three goddes etc etc, we would just use the title, anyhow the espers had a very big influence on how the war turned out, that's what we want to show the players

well every person from Strago's town would have to be there, they are the surviving Magi Warriors, you could make Strago the main character actually. But really, you should look more into the war of the magi before you actually make a game, because most of the war of the magi, was well before anything with Maduin, they were hiding in the Esper world because the war had already happened, and they feared it happening again.... which it pretty much did.

yes, strago was very young and he could be a character in the game, helping the espers, but why isnt the rest voting? ;/

They're descendants of surviving Magi Warriors. They aren't that old. Strago wouldn't have existed 1000 years before.

A FF VI without Kefka(regardless of whether it is FF 6-2 or whatever)........ :crying:

I like the idea of a precursor better, but I wouldn't call it the War of the Magi because that happened 1,000 years before the events in FF6 did.

I always forget it was 1000 years and think it's like 100, and strago could definitely be 100 haha

You might could use Maduin or Yura or Odin as one of the main characters, if it is about the War of the Magi. Maybe you could add some background to Yura, that'd be interesting to see.

Well what would 6-2 be about? WoM sounds good. But obviously, there would be next to no pre-made sprites you could use. Although, I suppose there are the esper ones

as i wrote, ffvi-2 would be 30 years in the future a little girl would have known that she wears magicite and she'll be welcomed(?) in lockes house and hell tell her about that magicite and locke will turn bad because celes will die (they got married) thats the main idea, later the girl will become bad(in 1/2 of the game), dont worry about sprites i have made many sprites for many games(and i would use the FF esper sprites used in FF6(there were some)), and even made the new "dwarven shield" in tibia =]

THAT was the main idea! =]

Locke 'turning bad' is really out of character... and there arent any Magicite left after the end of FFVI. It all disappears, along with all magic and Espers.

Any sequel to FFVI would have to be done without magic. As our dear friend Ashley pointed out, Magicite was wiped out when our heroes took down Kefka and the statues.

Although...

Do they ever mention that all of the Espers were turned into Magicite?

We don't know if all of the espsers were turned into magicite, but I do believe that any remaining espers, magicite, magic, etc... disappeared from the land. That's why the party was so worried about Terra, as she is half esper.

Yeah, Mullet has it. Even if any Espers were left alive, they would have died because 'magic will disappear from this world'. Without the statues' power (which Kefka had taken, and then it was lost when he was defeated), magic could not exist in the world. Because Terra was half-Esper, she too would die... except that Maduin says that if her 'human side' is strongly attached to someone or something (the children), she could live on as a normal human. With her Esper half disappearing, it's logical that any full Esper would disappear as well.

See, now that the issue has been brought up, I wonder about it. The inscriptions on the Statues in Crescent Mountain said that Espers were really just humans that got caught in the crossfire a long time ago, right?

Isn't it possible that whatever Espers still hung around (assuming there were some) simply reverted to their previous figure instead of just disappearing?

Vut what about those on cresent island whom were able to use magic with out espers. ??

TheAbominatrix

The people of Thamasa simply couldnt use magic anymore. "Magic will simply disappear from this world". That's what happened to the Mage Knights.

As for the Espers, Juan, those were the original Espers. As we see evidenced in Terra's flashback, the Espers do age and die, so they must be reproducing. I dont think the current Espers would turn into normal humans, given that they'd never been one. The only survivors would be like Tritoch... incased in ice or something of that nature.

The game also implies that Terra only survives because she has that human half. "If the human part of you is strongly attached blah blah blah."

Unless you came up with a reasonable explanation about the re-reappearance of magic on the scene. I think the prequel would make more sense myself. You could explain maybe that the espers are coming back! Why? Because there are humans who are turning into mutants (espers). And maybe this could be because there mitochondria are... oh wait, that would be parasite eve lol. Well I think I've joked long enough on here. Whatever you do, I'm sure it'll be amazing. Just PLEASE stick with it and don't quit. Everyone always starts there kinds of projects and never finishes them. If you'd like remixes of FF6 songs, or some help with midi, I've got garageband and keyboard and all sorts of recording junk here, and would be willing to help, if the project would actually be worked on. Actually, you could probably post something to see if people would help you out. I'd be willing.

THX GUYS!, we're going to make it, but now we're in a hard time to decide, what to make, my arguments on FFVI-2 (not to make it, that means) are working, but i think that a precursor to FFVI would be better,

OH and thx for the midis ill certainly want that!

Developing a prequel and a sequel would be fun stuff, once again my engine offer still stands(this saves you guys a /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gifload of work)
