Ok, what is up with the last battle of Disc 1? I've got Bandit on, I'm Stealing every turn, and I still haven't once gotten the Mythril Sword from Beatrix. Is it even possible to steal that thing from her? Is there some sort of trick to it? Or am I just one unlucky guy?

Its her rarest item so its probly just bad luck. its entirely possible to steal it.try to get zidanes spirit stat higher becaus e i think that helps him steal items with more success.

it doesnt alway work. i had the same problem. but when u get to cleyra
ull have much better choices at the shop so dont bother getting it


and some advice when u fight Beatrix for the 2nd and 3rd time dont bother stealing either because u get those items like right after in a chest somewhere. only some enemies later in the game do u REALLY want to steal their stuff ;)

This is one of those items that has like a 0.4% chance of successfully stealing in the first place. Even with Bandit and a high Spirit stat, your chances are still very slim to steal it successfully, especially with the time limit you are given with this fight. The only way you could steal it in that time limit is if you had Master Thief, which is not possible at this point in the game. To successfully steal this from her would take an extreme amount of luck (not the stat, real luck :tongue: ).

Seriously though, it's not worth it to steal this. The next time you visit Lindbulm (which is rather soon), you can buy them. Don't kill yourself over it. The only item that has the 0.4% successful-steal-rate that I have come across that is worth stealing is the Fairy Flute from Hilgigars, which cannot be purchased after that battle for a disc and a half.

Master Thief? What's that do, and when can I get it?

On a side note, I've gotten the Reef Chocobo upgrade, is there any way to get more Chocobo upgrades on Disc 1?

yes u can go to the chocobo lagoon and get choc graphs there and get upgraded too

as for master theif u have to buy the Thief Gloves for 25000 gil at the Treno auction (on like disc 3) or go to a place called Daguerro, which is only accessible by airship or flying chocobo, and sythesize it there for 50000 gil

Master Theif allows u to steal better items
