what FF do you want remade on the PS3? [Archive]

it's an old dumb question but i'm just wondering what people think.... :)
of course like most people wanted ff7 would be nice but I think ff6 and tactics might work...even if it's the sprites themselves that lent the charm to those games. I think Tactics with nice tall characters and fully generated weapons and flashy cg scenes would be nice...the game was kind of underrated for all its being great so maybe they should resurrect it and give it the flash it deserves. :greenie:

I doubt they would do this... but i'd love them to do FFVIII i think they could improve it so much more and go indepth with more of the minor charactors... i loved the storyline so it would be nice if they had voices in it.

I'd rather a game with a battle system like tactics with all of the characters from the previous FF's, each with their own unique abilities, in an open ended world so enhance replay value. I'm beginning to tire of all of these remakes. Hell, half of the games these days are remakes rather than original material. I guess when movies started being rereleased it was only a matter of time.

If plastering on shiney graphics is the only way to get gamers to play the older games, then they don't deserve to play them in the first place.

Besides, if they remake any of them, it'd be FFVII or FFVIII and there's enough of that crap already.

Yeah, it's not a Final Fantasy, but if any of Square's games (besides FFIII, so that it finally gets a release outside Japan) get remade, it should be Chrono Trigger.

mmph maybe they should make a final fantasy all-stars and have all the characters from all the games team up or fight each other to seal up all the offshoots cropping up from the old games. then they can put the finishing touches on ff12 and yeah, make it so wonderful that the old squaresoft glory is fully restored. ;)

And I would love to see more detailed Summons in a Tactics remake! :cool: As well as having the special members of the party change outfits too when they change to a different class.

Dont really care to see anything past 7's video remade... ie i think 7-10 are ok enough already.

Defionatly VIII, because it is streets better than any other final fantasy and game for that matter. I do believe that VIII ended well enough that it doesnt need a sequel, but then again it would be brilliant to see them all do another adventure with a new storyline, and with enhanced graffic's.
Another contender should be FFV.:)

i'd go with the chrono series and xenogears even though they aren't final fantasy. if i had to pick from final fantasy, i'd say viii or maybe I! if they remade I for ps3, they'd have to do some actual character development.

If they were to make any FF, I'd want it to be FF6 under one condition. Rather than doing something expected like giving it next-gen 3D graphics, go in a different direction. If they made FF6 with graphics that truly looked like Amano's artwork, I would not only jump up and down from the sheer joy of hearing about it, I would sell my soul and murder as many people as Square asked me to to get my hands on the game.

I'm not sure that I totally find the appeal in Amano's work. They're pretty, for sure, and in a very recognizable style, but they all start to look the same after a while.

I don't think there would be any reason to re-release any of the games on the Ps3. They just wouldn't be as original as the games they are now..

i agree with necron re relising a ff game would so not be original. but it would still sell like 2 million copys or something in one day sigh......never underestimate the ff fans no truer words have ever been said.

That was just a demo, i don't think this suggests that they are remaking FF7.

FFX is the first. Your average Playstation RPG doesn't have the data capacity for full speech.

anyways i realli hate reading what everyone in such a long game as ff has to say but is FF IX worth buying. it is good?

oh and one more thing. I just recently got hooked on FF so ive only got 3 of the games (X X-2 and tactics):rolleyes2 i would like to know witch ones are worth buying (top 3 best ones mabey);)

well i think for the grand finale if FF12 is gonna be square enix's final fantasy that all of the final fantasies should be made on PS3.

Final Fantasy 7 and 1 should be interesting if they were remade

I think it'll be great if Square remake FF7 AND FF8. I like to see FF7 in a good CG movie. In FF8, I hope they'll make the guys more manly and not look like lady boy...:(

Some of the people playing older games don't even know they exist. Rereleases will heighten awareness among casual gamers.

There's a guy at school who has played FFT-A and DoS, but none of the others. Half of that might be because he just has games for teh gba, though ;)

FFVIII and FFIX are visualy flawless so they don't need changes. But if they were to have a remake then there would be a big chance there. There is a very truthful phrase along the lines of "Don't Mess With A MasterPiece". That is exactly what Square is doing by taking big chances. But then again I would say FFVII needs a remake but that's only visually and the saying goes along with this game aswell...

I like Flying Mullet's idea, but I also think that if any game were to be remade with PS3 visuals, it should be Final Fantasy VI (out of the numbered Final Fantasies, in any event). Also, I think they need to go back and allow the full vision of Xenogears to be unveiled in all its glory.

Yeah. The younger the game the better the graphics should be. If you look at it from my view, when a game is released the graphics should be top noch and able to compete with the other games coming out of that time. But when it get's older new systems will come out so they deffinately can't compete with that...
