I was just thinking about this. Whatever happened to the theme song at the beginning of TV shows?

And while we're at it, what's the greatest theme song of all time?

Wonder Years theme song was the best ever.
Yeah pretty much. Prolly was the only theme song that fit the show it went with and wasn't completely annoying.

"Boy the way Glen Miller played
Songs that made the hit parade.
Guys like us we had it made,
Those were the days.
And you knew who you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man
Like Herbert Hoover again.
Didn't need no welfare state,
Everybody pulled his weight.
Gee our old LaSalle ran great.
Those were the days."

God I hate the Fresh Prince Theme Song. It's got to be one of the most annoying ones ever. Ugh.

I was going to say The Simpsons, but something doesn't seem right...but I'll say The Simpsons anyway.

I agree with Nicky. Has anyone ever seen the extended version of that song? There's like two extra verses.

It plays on a very few verses. It's probably on the DVD, too.

YES :D

So this one time we were hanging out and this chick Emily said something about chillaxin so I launch into the fresh prince theme song and Jay was just like "oh my god" and confused and scared. It was great.

There are a lot of TV theme songs that I like.

CSI: NY ~ Baba O'Reiley
CSI ~ Who Are You
CSI: Miami ~ We Won't Get Fooled Again (Yes, I like The Who)
Smallville ~ Save Me
Charmed ~ How Soon Is Now
Gilmore Girls ~ Where You Lead
Buffy ~ Buffy Theme
Angel ~ Angel

...and many more. I don't know what the greatest would be. I just know what I like.

Maybe not so much as a theme song, but the ending song from the "Incredible Hulk" of the 80's was really good. It was quite funny the other day when I was watching "Family Guy" that Stewie mentioned this song and played a small excerpt. Oh how that brough back memories.

Also, CSI: Las Vegas has a very good theme song, perhaps the best because of how well it applies to the show. If you aren't familiar with it the song is "Who Are You" by The Who (I might be wrong on the title but that's essentially it). Mad props to Jerry for hiring someone intelligent enough to do that kind of quality work.
