Is it possible to achieve a maximum of 9999 HP for each character?

My strongest character as I'm playing right now is Zidane, who is at Lv.83 and has about 6000 HP, and he has HP+20 equipped as an ability. At this rate I'm not gonna get him up to max HP, so I'm wondering if there's any add-ons I've missed with a better ability than HP+20? If so, where can I find them?

Thanks for your help.

hp+20 is the best but it is possible to have a hat, add-on, and armor all equiped with hp+20
(i had it with zidzane and steiner and u learn them and viola hp+80!)
u dont necesessarily neeed to get 9999 over 6000 will win u the game just as well

Um, I haven't had the game this long, but I'm fairly sure that having multiple pieces of equipment with the same ability doesn't change the boost given by that ability, it just changes the rate at which you learn that ability. I'm fairly sure that even if every piece of equipment had HP+20% on it, you'd still only get a total HP boost of 20%...

That's what I was thinking. The only combination I've got that works so far is the HP+10 and HP+20 to get HP+30, which still isn't that much.

I must say that's a shame that HP+20 is the highest you can get, I always like getting up to maximum HP on Final Fantasy games. :(

Amarant is the only one who can do it, and you'd need to get him to 84 Strength.

Multiple items that teach the same ability don't affect the strength of that ability. That is to say two pieces of equipment that teach HP+20% will not give HP+40%.

Matter of fact having both HP+10% and HP+20% doesn't give 30%, it gives slightly more. Max Hp is given a 10% increase first, then Max+10% is given a 20% increase.
