Why do we constantly have people dwelling on the sexuality of Final Fantasy characters ? I've lost count the number of times I've heard or read discussions about who is gay, bi, or lesbian in the series and I'd just like to say it seriously annoys me.

It annoys me a lot too. Not because I have anything against homosexual, or bisexual people at all, but it bothers me when people start trying to make the characters into something that they're not. I guess they can have their little fantasies and fanfiction, but when they seriously argue that these characters are gay, it's annoying; cause they're so obviously not. ;P So I agree with you.

I don't think any of them are gay. But my friends and I used to joke around about how feminine the male characters are becoming, just being humorous and such. Of course you have Tidus looking like Meg Ryan in some pictures. The main male characters are looking more boyish rather than manly.

Edited to add: Come to think of it, I'm not so sure it was rape.... I mean, Cloud took his sweet old time counting to 10.... instead of, you know, getting the hell out of there! My favourite part is when he eventually says to Mukki, "Not to be rude or anything, but could you go do someone else?" Just remember kids: always remember to be polite when someone's assaulting you! Let's just call their little encounter "semi-consensual".

What I want to know is - how the HELL did this game get rated 11+?! Was there something in the water at the BBFC premises? (I live in the UK)
All I can say is this: the game can thank it's crappy, can't-tell-anything-apart in-game graphics for escaping an 18+ rating! There is no way that FFVIII would've gotten away with the Honeybee Inn scenes!

But what if they remake the game for the PS3? With voices?! Can you imagine someone actually speaking lines like "Why don't you stick around and play a bit? Daddy's so lonely..."? I can see the voice
actor for Mukki arriving at the studio, reading the script and then saying "Hey! I agreed to do work on a video game, not a virtual porno! I quit!" Horay for creative interpretation. No such event occured. Mukki was telling Cloud to relax and stop being so antisocial. As far as rape goes, that's yet another fantasy of your mind. Mukki was trying to wake Cloud up. Cloud is totally a catcher though.

What follows is quite possibly the most disturbing scene ever found in an RPG. Cloud enters the unoccupied room along with the woman dressed as a slutty bee. She leads him over to a hot tub and asks if they should get started. "I guess that since you chose this room, that would mean you...hate being lonely?" I make Cloud say, "Cut the small talk." Clearly, he has no idea what's in store for him. "Come on, everyone's waiting," Slutty Bee tells him. As if on cue, there's a knock on the door and a large group of muscle men, most likely from the gym, run in. Cloud jumps out of the way in fear. I don't blame him. Some guy named Mukki says, "Wassup!!" I believe this game pre-dated that whole stupid "wazzup" commercial craze, so you can see that our popular media gets their ideas from gay crossdressing muscle men in Japanese video games.

I can make Cloud choose "I'm outta here" or "This could be dangerous....". I have no idea if it even matters what you pick during this scene, but I'm going to pick the choices that sound the most like they will extend the scene. So I pick the second. "Looks like I'm always going to be facing crises all my life...," is Cloud only reaction to the imminent molestation, like it's just one of those things he has to put up with. Mukki tells Cloud (who he calls "Bubby") to loosen up. He also says "...heave...pant..." between all of his lines. Disturbing. "Let's wash off all our sweat and dirt together!" Mukki suggests. "Wassup!!" Hey, I never said the dialogue made sense.

Cloud, despite his verbal protestations, makes no move to actually leave. The camera pans up suddenly, so that all we see is the top of Cloud's spiky hair. "Bubby! You're the intimate type, huh!!" Mukki says. It sounds dirty, but I have no clue what it means. There's some more of those "RPG clothing removal" sounds like we heard in the Clothing Store earlier, and Mukki, between more heaving and panting, shrieks, "Wow!! Would ya look at that!" Yes, he means Cloud's wang, for those of you who are innocent or slow. Not that I want to think about it, but I imagine that Cloud's unit is probably all blocky and crappy-looking like the rest of him. No, that doesn't turn me on. I'll probably have nightmares now.

The camera pans over as the guys "force" Cloud into the hot tub. We can still only see the tops of their heads. Once they are all decently in the tub, and no one's blocky units or asses are visible, the camera pans back down. All ten or so of the guys are squished into the little tub with Cloud. Once again, he's not exactly resisting. Mukki keeps jabbering about random /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif. He asks Cloud, "How is it? Feels good, huh?" I think he's just talking about bathing....until I read the reply choices: "......" or "It hurts". IT HURTS?! My innocent little self suddenly realizes just what they were doing to him all along. Okay, so I'm not innocent, I thought they were taking advantage of him all along, but I never expected them to actually live down to my sick expectations in a Final Fantasy game.

"I don't feel good. Let me out...," Cloud whines. Apparently he got more than he bargained for. At least it's not this. "You'll get used to it. Try counting to ten." My eyes are wide with shock, and two thoughts are running through my mind: "holy freaking /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif" and "hey....why couldn't they have a bath scene with Squall and Seifer?. Cloud starts counting down, rather than....I don't know, maybe running away. Mukki continues to make small talk while violating Cloud. He asks his age, and when Cloud tells him "twenty-one", Mukki admits that he's more than twice that old. He's old enough to be Cloud's dad. Ew. There are rhythmic wet sounds through this entire scene, by the way.

Next, Mukki asks if Cloud wants to join his "Young bubby's group". What the freakin' hell is a bubby anyway? I make Cloud answer "........" because we all know that he really does want to join the young bubby group. Hell, I think he's joining it right this second. When Cloud reaches the number six in his countdown, he says, "Not to be rude or anything, but could you go do someone else?" I love how he's all concerned about manners when he's being assaulted. Mukki replies, "Well, if that's how you feel....too bad." I do believe we call that "nonconsensual"....although I still think Cloud secretly enjoys it. I mean, it's not like he's counting to ten all that fast. When he finally finishes -- counting to ten, that is -- he gets out of the tub. Mukki is sad. "Why don't you stick around and play a bit?" he wonders. "Daddy's so lonely...." Now that's just wrong.

The camera pans up again so that we can't see any blocky male nudity, and suddenly everyone is out of the tub and dressed. Well, as dressed as they were before. The slutty bee chick is still in the background during this entire scene. Mukki apparently enjoyed his ravishment of Cloud, and gives him "bikini briefs" as a souvenir of their little encounter. I still don't know whether I'm highly amused or horribly disturbed. I think I want to cry.

Oh really?? Then what is it that they're referring to? If Mukki was just massaging him or something, why would they use that kind of language? If it was just an "innocent" massage, then why is there even a reason for the Honeybee Inn to be there in the first place? I just think if Square didn't want us to have our minds in the gutter, then they shouldn't have put a whore house in the game, Cloud dressing up as a girl, or that kind of dialogue.

Okay, first off, the group room. Cloud definitely gets a sense of what goes on in this room and, being the complete closetted homosexual that he is, can't handle it and turns his back on all the large, muscular men sitting in the tub with him. Naturally they give up after they realize Cloud is just a PT. As far as what was hurting, well, he was in a small tub with 10 large men. There were tons of clipping errors during that scene. You might be a little uncomfortable too if someone's arm was going through your face.

Second, the #(^*&$#%^*^$* room. There was definitely nothing going on there, Cloud and Mukki were both still clothed.

No offense, but I definitely think you guys are projecting. Doing what you suggest Mukki had been doing to Cloud is not a simple in & out affair, it takes quite a bit of time and effort to prepare. I'd get banned if I went into detail, but let's just say there's no way Mukki could have done that without Cloud having a reaction along the lines of "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU TRYING TO DO?!" or "herk! no, I'm okay, really..."

There's no handy recap of this scene available on the net, so I'm going to attempt to write my own (hopefully humourous) one. Please bear with me.

So - you enter the intriguingly named "!@#$" Room (I wonder what that stands for....) and have a conversation with your ghost self. You begin to freak out and then collapse. The Slutty Bee in the room goes to get "help" and the screen goes black. "Help" arrives in the form of Mukki.

Okay - time out. Why would the Slutty Bee return with Mukki? How is he supposed to "help" Cloud? He sure as hell isn't a doctor! If, as suggested, Mukki was just "slapping Cloud awake" - couldn't anyone have done that? The Slutty Bee herself, in fact?

My theory is that Mukki either had his eye on cloud and informed the staff, or, more probably, that he was a regular patron at the brothel and the staff were already aware of his tastes. (Mukki refers to Cloud's youth several times; I bet the word "bubby" means "boy" or "beautiful boy". I'm guessing that Mukki is into much younger guys. Cloud fits that description. Again - ew.) Yes - I think that the Slutty Bee essentially brought Mukki in there to rape Cloud. Would she really do that? Well, it is a brothel. And it's been proven that the Slutty Bees are voyeurs: there was one present in the room for the entirety of Cloud's bath with Mukki and co. So, we know that they're pretty seedy types.... Far-fetched, you say? Well you haven't heard it all yet....

Okay - so you continue to chat with your ghost self in your head while unconcious (the screen is still black, btw). Just before Ghosty disappears, he tells you that "It's started moving". What else could he be referring to other than Mukki "moving" on top of Cloud? Then a bunch of time passes.... (who knows how long you've been unconcious and defenseless against weird pervs *cough*Mukki*cough*....) Finally, some, er, noises come up on the black screen: "rub, rub, rub..... rub, rub, rub, rub...." "thump... pound.... thump... pound..." "poik... poik... ...squish." These don't seem very consistent with somebody slapping someone else - especially the "poiking". Because of the "rub, rub" part, some have speculated that Mukki was giving Cloud a massage. I don't buy this at all. I mean, think about it: Mukki's a horny middle-aged lech who's looking for some action; he's alone in a room with a beautiful young "bubby", who's unconcious and completely vulnerable. What's he gonna do - give Cloud a massage? I don't think so! He's gonna take advantage of him, obviously.

It's now that Mukki tries to wake Cloud - after the "poiking" and "pounding". Cloud comes to, then, most curiously, exclaims "Uh... OW..!!" at the exact same moment his HP and MP are *magically* restored. We can safely assume that being beaten up isn't going to make Cloud feel better, so Mukki must have been doing something other than slapping him. Something.... pleasurable.... that also hurt Cloud. Either a massage or sex. You know which one I'm leaning towards.... A massage doesn't usually hurt.

The screen finally fades in, to show Mukki lying - half-naked - on top of Cloud. He expresses relief that his little "Bubby" is alright, and tells him not to get so uptight. Similar to his "Loosen up" comment in the alternative scene. Then the conversation goes in some very interesting directions, that seem to suggest impotence on Cloud's part. Mukki's next lines: "Hmm...? They say youth is so long but so short." "Let's give this next one your best shot." Mmm.... This seems to imply that Cloud had a little trouble "performing" because of his youth and inexperience. Or maybe it means that the young have little stamina and come quickly...? In any case, it seems to have a sexual meaning. Anyone care to offer a different interpretation?

Next - Mukki gets off the bed and says "Time's up. Bye, buddy." Okay.... What?! Is there a time limit for couples in the "!@#$" Room? Did Mukki pay for a "session" with Cloud? How long were they in there for? If Mukki just went in there to rouse Cloud, why did he say that their time was up?

Mukki goes to leave, but Cloud catches up with him. Mukki's next line is the most suggestive in the whole scene. He says to Cloud "Don't get depressed over a thing like this." "It happens to me all the time." See what I mean about all of the impotence innuendos? Mukki could either mean that he faints all the time, or that he gets frigid all the time. But this comment taken in conjunction with his earlier one clearly points to the latter meaning.

Finally, Cloud goes to talk to the Slutty Bee. She says this "I'm so sorry... There's a lot of 'adult' things going on..." "For your inconvenience, please take this, okay?", and gives him some lingerie for his "inconvenience". Is she referring to his little episode with Ghosty, or his molestation at the hands of Mukki? And why is she apologising so sincerely...? Because she let him get raped, perhaps?

In conclusion: I think that Cloud got !@#$ed in the "!@#$" Room. Though I'd agree that this scene is far more ambiguous than the other one.

Really - what more could they do (within the bounds of decency) than heavily suggest what was going on? That's why the screen blacks out or the camera pans away.... Which is suggestive enough in itself, IMO! There's certainly far more evidence that Cloud and Mukki had sex than there is that Cloud and Tifa did - which many people seem to believe happened....

I happen to come accross a wonderful ''site'' that has great yaoi and hentai (forgot the link :().
