On my crotch, just like everything else.

Depending on which one I wear, it's either left breast pocket, or the obvious lanyard around neck. If it's an I.D badge, front right belt loop.

Mine's on the front right of my uniform top, front left of my body armor, front of my Kevlar (helmet), and back of my boonie cap. As for normal jobs, I've never had one where I needed to wear a nametag.

Normally I wear it around my neck on a lanyard, but sometimes I string the lanyard through a belt loop and be allhot.

Why would it matter what hand you were?

Due to various writings of Terry Pratchett, I am led to believe that the heart has some symbolism in this, and I dont' think left-handed people have their heart on the right side:O

Oddly enough I had that vague idea somewhere in the back of my head too :) I do usually expect left handed people to wear their watch on their right wrist... But apart from the lanyard (sp?) wihich I'd failed to think of I can't imagine an name tag looking right anywhere else.

In New Zealand we don't have nametags, we just write "HULLO MY NAME IS ______________" directly onto our shirts. Sucks when the ink runs in the wash.

At Disneyland they required us to wear it high on the left side of our chest. The left specifically so it's visible when you shake hands with your right hand.

At KinderCare I rarely wore it, or I wore it clipped to the bottom of my shirt or something.

When I worked at Pizza Hut I would usually wear a nametag that said Michelle on it and that confused people :) For a while I had one that said Xerxes.

My job requires all employees to wear their badges for security purposes. I attack my badge to the bottom of my shirt hanging over my right pocket.

I always put my name tags un my jean pocket, where it then covered by my shirt XD if i am asked to put it where it is visable, I'll pin it on my headband....upside down. I don't like the feeling of strangers knowing my name without my permition.
