So yeah, today is the day we get to go back to standard time, meaning we all set our clocks back...it's really thrown me off this morning, causing me to needlessly set my clocks to the wrong time. -__- I think it's a dumb practice and we all need to be like Arizona and do away with it.

So how do you feel about daylight savings time? I'm not sure how it is outside the US, so sorry if it's another one of those ignorant Americans who know nothing outside their own country thing again.

otherwise I'm always behind/ahead of others because I'm too lazy to change my watch

We do the same /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif in Norway. Although I feel like I've gained an hour. I slept til like 3 PM, then I set my clock back to 2 PM. what.

One hour backwards. I think it's a good thing to do because it gets dark early this time of the year and by setting clocks backwards we're allowed to enjoy the light for bit longer.

Mine too. :( At 2am this morning it went back to 1am all on its own, so I had to live through 1am AGAIN. :(

I love getting an extra hour for the weekend. I do think that daylight saving time overall is a silly concept and I wouldn't mind if they did away with it. However, here in Iowa, they are actually talking about making it permanent! So we would basically be Eastern time. And that would suck because everyone know CST is the best. I hope they don't do that :(

I find this all really amusing yet weird. In all my life, I have NEVER experienced this..Daylight...Savings.

chaos: As do I :D

Rubedo: We also had to do daylight savings. I've been up in the morning from 5am, because I wasn't in need of anymore sleep at the time.

Personally, I've thought that there shouldn't even be time zones. Just base everything off Zulu Time (Greenwich?) Like, 6 am in England means 6 am everywhere, it's just that while they're getting up at 6 am in England, they're going to bed at 6am in, say, China. It would work just about the same way, just with less control......of course, it'd all have to be figured out, and it'd never change to this, it'd just be easier if it did.

But anyway. Extra hour of sleep, yes.

An extra hour of sleep is totally worth losing an hour xxmonths from now. If you disagree you are wrong : p

The reasoning behind daylight saving is for the farmers and industry (most people) before the widespread use of the lightbulb. They needed to work in the sun, so the daylight was a lot more needed for them.. duh

BUT LOOK AT WHAT GEORGE BUSH IS DOING: Date change in 2007

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to revert the Daylight Saving Time back to the 2005 time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.

DAMN you bush!

I like it the change over all. Set the normal day to enjoy as much sun as possible :)

We have our Daylight Savings in the UK on the same evening. Personally I prefer it when they go back, because it means I technically get a 25 hour day, which is always good. In contrast it sucks when they go forwards. It's to do with farmers if I remember correctly, so they can get more work done in the morning or something like that. Still, climate being how it is these days, it'll probably be switched around or changed to two hours.

I think it's a great idea.

However, they should just keep putting the clocks back every year and dispense with the 'one hour forward in six months' rule. In about six or more years, daytime will be nighttime, etc. Change is good.
