Otherworld is the heavy metal vocal track that plays in several places (with several variations) in FFX :p

I didn't like it at first, but it's growing on me. I wish this poll had more options.

Great song, I love it, it definately is different for a FF game to include metal music! It also works well at the beginning during sin attacking zanekand, and at the end during the fight with jetch! I like it!:D

I think it works during the fight with Jecht, but I don't like the song itself. When I first played FFX I actually cringed upon hearing the song in the Blitzball game at the start. It's just a pretty straight forward and boring take on metal if you ask me.

Seconded.

I think a prog metal song (like something you'd get from Dream Theater or Symphony X) would have worked better with an ultimate boss fight. Final boss themes are traditionally progressive, aren't they? :)

Something between loving it and hating it, along the lines of: 'I liked it.'

I used to love it, but after playing it on repeat for days on end, I've gotten really sick of it. Once in awhile it's still okay though.

It works better in context than on its own. I bought the soundtrack a year before I got the game, and I listened to it and thought: what the heck is this? When I played the game it finally made sense.

I thinkit sucked. It goes marvelously with the FMV, but you can barely comprehend what they are saying, so I like the version the Black Mages did.

I really like the one in FFX, but the one by the Black Mages SUCKS, cause it has some chicks voice instead of the dude and you can actually understand her. Dont like that version at all.

Ditto!

I played FFX more because of that cool beggining with heavy metal and that huge wave than for any other reason.. At least until kilika when I got hooked in the story and the other characters too.

SE rocks at game begginings. The FFX2 start is also great : You see Yuna doing a Madonna like concert... And she Rikku and another cool girl kicking some butt in the center stage.
Alas, chapters 2 and 4 are nowhere near as good as 1,3 and 5 on FFX2

yes, awesome heavy metal music (too bad it will only work for FFX). music makes the world go round and puts FFX up one notch - ahead of which Final Fantasy? certainly not FFVIII, or FFIX...

That was awful, i cried out in a mixture of merriemnt and pain when i heard that (and the skies from above). The normal Otherworld is really good though

Loved Otherworld, when I put in X for the first time and heard that played during the opening scene it was awesome, I'm not even a metal fan, but it fit the scene, Ochestra music is great from time to time, but having that song at the beginning and in the final boss battle was awesome, to a certain degree it got you pumped for the game.
