What are the most stupid myths you ever heard about FFVIII?

I was once told you could get the Lionheart by mugging Seifer in Deling City. (ok i actually spent ages learning mug and tried it but its kinda tempting, right?

What about you? have you ever really gone out of your way for something that turned out to be a load of Bull?

I think that Obel Lake sidequest is a waste of time.
I find that a lot of the sidequests were actually.
They were boring, and the rewards weren't always decent.

once i first read the obel lake sidequest i was thinking. what a hilarious rumour, but when i found out it was real i had a huge mental attack and had 5 operations on my foot for no reason inperticular.

i know! oh and to keep on topic: one of the most stupid myths i've heard is name all the magus sisters with 'y' at the end of their names and you will get the dark version of them. or something like that!

ON TOPIC, WHICH SEEMS TO BE REALLY RARE: I first thought the Obel Lake Sidequest was false too. But once I actually saw screens, and i tried it, i just thought it was stupid. It still is stupid.

There was a myth I heard that said a way to get Ellone in your party, junctioned with Griever... What fools these mortals be.

And, BTW, you should've known better about the Lionheart from Seifer because all weapons in this game have to be remodeled at a junk shop. None of them are stolen. There are some good Mugs in Disc 1, but no weapons.

i thought people were making up stuff when they said about the UFO. Then i got into a fight without any monsters and then i saw it. I was really freaked out!

umm.. as far as getting Ellone, im pretty sure Ive seen doctored screen shots of someone having Xu and Ellone in their party, and Ive seen a battle video of Seifer, Raijin, and Fujin fighting on the Tribia continent, but I never heard any of these mentioned as rumors..

The closest thing I can recall of a rumor involving FF8 was that Cloud & Squall were to be the lead characters in FF9.:rolleyes2

on 1st disk? how is that possible if you havent even got the magazine that enables your weapon to upgrade to it... oh wait this is about rumours... hmmm...

There was once a very good rumor:

--We all know that in Disc II you will come across a point that tells you characters' memories were erased because of G.F. Therefore if you reach that point without any juction, the plot would be totally different.

I tried that though and the plot was the same as usual.

i've heard/read dozens of myth's like if you go to island of Hell/Heaven (don't remember wich 1) you can find some Cloud item and if you use it in battle Cloud will show up doing his 4th limit break Omni Salsh.
