I usually just warn the obvious...most of the time. So I type in what ever I want. I just warned something and simply put down

ass hat

So what wierd stuff have you put down?

Dear Sir/Madam,
It has recently come to my attention that a certain member of our community has posted a picture of the pornographic nature in the 'General Chat' section of Eyes on Final Fantasy Forums. I find this post to be potentially offensive to the younger members of the message board, and possibly dangerous to lurkers who are underage.

I trust that you will deal with the message according to the rules set down to prevent this type of behaviour.

Thankyou,

Old Manus (registered member)

I try to be specific 'cause I always was midly annoyed by having to figure out what someone was reporting if it wasn't obvious enough. Either that or I swear, usually at BoB or Yams.

I try to be specific too. xD

Isn't asshat one word, like jackass?

But um, I think I've only used the warn button like twice and I just described what the problem was and why I was warning the post.

I don't know if ass hat is one or two words. Is top hat one word? I rest my retarded case:D

I've never used the warn feature during my 4+ years here. I also haven't responded to a warned post in over a year. That's how Leeza gets most of her mod work done.

For some reason, seeing asshat split up as two words is mildly infuriating. I wonder why this is.

a validating member on a forum im mod at used the warn button to ask why he couldnt post, it had nothing to do with the forum or posts. He irked me, but i couldnt yell at him, cause he wasnt a member so coulkdnt use PMs

I don't use it. Nobody likes a snitch.

Besides, why should we do the staff's dirty work? What have they ever done for me? :(

Usually what I warn is incredibly obvious, but I still type a little sentence-summary of what it is. "PM advertising newbie," for example, which I think was the last thing I used the warn button about.

I like it when people say exactly what's going down... but random greetings to the staff are also nice - as long as they're part of a legitimate warn.

The best Reported Post I ever got was this:

Come join in the fun. I'm running out of ideas.

Especially YOU, Sean. You haven't really cut loose in *years*. You want this. You know you do. I'm telling you, it's better than sex! Well, not that I'd know, being a virgin at all, but dammit, I could use your help here! In the thread, I mean. Not
with the virgin part. Not that I wouldn't be flattered, of course, but...um..yeah. The thread. Har. *shifty eyes*

I feel no explaination of what is going on is necessary if when you click on thread you would figure it out right away. That is when I type in whatever I feel like.

I think I've only used the warn feature two or three times, and usually as a joke.

I've always meant to warn a post so I could send my love to a Cid's Knight, but the problem is I don't love any of them because they are empty shells of human beings who emit purest hatred from their eyes and possibly their breath (it'd explain the smell)

Hmm...two years ago. I don't remember who was around back then, but that sounds like Lynx or Neel. More like Neel, really.

Uh...yeah. I once warned a thread just so clout would look at it. It ended up being archived.

That's not fair. I could care less if you were an admin to hold such power, but if we did something like that we would get banned. S'matter of fact...

I've only reported one post that I still have in my mail account, and that wasn't even a proper reporting post. I was just telling staffers to let me know what they think of the new reported post layout. This is the oldest one I have:

Nay, I don't warn posts. In case I should one day do, I'd just explain politely what I find offensive/inappropriate in the post.

Someone warned me for reviving threads then has the nerve to blatantly say i was being rude. I sent him a really angry pm in huge red letters. ^_^ I have never warned anyone though.. I was a 2 week old n00b and had no idea that replying to threads could upset someone.

I've only ever reported one person on a GameFaqs board a few years back. It didn't require much explanation as he was blatantly flaming me, in his posts for no real reason other than I disagreed with him, and felt the need to try and brag about himself so he'd seem more important, and try to prove he was better than me somehow. After he kept up his childish insults for 4 or 5 posts I reported him, and his posts were actually deleted so it did work. Part of the problem with boards that big is you get more children who can't play nice and have a civil discussion.

I never warn. Dunno why.

Now, everyone, warn this post.

Rase
11-13-2005, 08:17 AM
I don't think I've used it, as it's WAY over there, and it's so much easier to ignore problems and let the staff find them, thus giving them purpose and making the have more self-esteem.

By the way, why can't we warn our own posts?

crono_logical

I don't use the Warn button, I use the Edit/Delete button :monster:

Rase: The forum removes the link from your own posts by default, but if you know what you're doing, you can warn yourself :p

Would it be by finding out what post # your post is, "reporting" another post, then typing the # of your post in the URL? :D
