View Full Version : Worst Enix game ever?

What do you think? In my opinion that's a tough call 'cause Enix has done a lot of great games, but if I had to pick one I'd lean toward Bust a Groove since it's way too easy, more repetative than a broken record, and provides minimal replay value if you're looking at things in an overly optimistic sense. There's no gameplay variety at all. Once you've learned the moves and the timing (which really doesn't take long at all) every stage is exactly the same as the last. The worst part is this came out after Konami's Bemani series, which showed that you need to give players more than an aesthetic difference to keep things interesting. On the other hand, the music was pretty fun...

I always thought Robotrek was diabolical.

I really need to try Robotrek then. I haven't played it yet, but being from Quintet, one of the most artistic and beautiful video game developers ever, I refuse to believe it can be bad. But every company has their flops, so who knows.

I can honestly say none, I dont think there all amazing, but I think there all above average ....And Robotrek is a must ....

No nominations for Paladins Quest? None for Dragon Quest II? Surely SOMEBODY out there hates Wonder Project J or Pop'n Tanks!

I thought it was pretty cool that you could play through Paladin's Quest with one hand. It's got to get some points for that. Other than that, you're right, it's pretty bad. But Asmik isn't exactly known for branding quality titles. Just look at Xardion. Awesome concept, crappy game.

Bust a groove?? Wtf. Is that the same as Bust A Move??

I'm 57% sure you made those last two up.

Look 'em up.

As far as Paladin's Quest... You can play through it with one hand? I never knew that! Is there some sorta dismemberment special attack that some boss does?

Naw. All you got to do is hold the controller pad with your left thumb, and put your left index on the L button. Those are the only buttons you'll need. Makes for some very relaxing gaming.

Ohhhhhh! You meant... LOL

Actually you could also do that in Earthbound and the SNES Dragon Quest games. Dismemberment in an RPG would be pretty cool though.

I can't really think of any right now that I didn't like but they probably had a few dungeon crawls that weren't very fun. Taloon's quest never looked that exciting to me.

It wasn't a game, but whenever Quintet quit making Enix games was a bad day. Soulblazer 4 life

Hmm, i think most of Enix's old rpgs were so called 'bad' but i still loved them and played them to death.

Both Robotrek and 7th Saga were 'bad' games but i mustve played both of them 200+ hours each. :mog:

I've always wanted to play the Wonder Project J games. Seems like a neat concept and I dig the art design.

On-topic, though, I'll default and say all the Dragon Quests. They've probably put out worse games, but I never bothered to get wise to Enix's early years the way I did Square's.

Unlimited Saga for me. It was a big waste of time and money for me.

Unlimited SaGa isn't an Enix game.

Kishi, have you played Paladin's Quest? I'm just wondering because I can certainly think of less fun games by Enix than Dragon Quest. Granted I like the Soul Blazers games much more, and E.V.O. is just plain untouchable, but Bust A Groove was sheer dreck by comparison.

I say FFX-2 was pretty bad, but Unlimited Saga was worse. Unlimited is a Square Enix game dont believe me Click here (http://www.u-saga.com/gameComp1.html). It clearly has the name Square Enix on it.

Unlimited saga was the stranged game I have ever played. Odd, confusing, overall terrible.

So Kawaii Ryûkishi was wrong and I was right? Wow, first time for everything. Well I still stand by my choice and that was that Unlimited Saga was the worst Square Enix game ever!

Now we make the poll, and prove it.

FFX-2 was made by Square. Unlimited SaGa was made by the Square side of Square Enix. Neither of them were made by Enix or even the Enix side of SE.

... Ultimate saga had one of the most involving stories ever, and the gameplay system was challenging to master, easy to learn.
