I dont quite know what you mean. Are you saying that you characers aren't levelling up?

I think he's saying that Squall is leveling up a lot faster than the rest of the characters. (Squall is getting more exp. during battle than the others.)

I havnt played FF8 in a long time but.. wasnt there any accessory or GF that includes extra EXP abilities? If so, maybe squall has it equipped.

I was just looking at the guide and I dont see any GF abilities that allow you to get more exp. I dont think any of the FF games i've played allow more exp. The only one thats close is FFX with the Double AP ability. I might be wrong, but I dont see anything in the guide about that.

no its not really that its that i am quite confused that all the charactors always lvlel up after gaining 1000exp i thought it gets higher each time u lvl up like around level 70s its 20000 to level up but it stays at 1000 i could get everyone to lvl 100 easy its really strange as hell

So, you're saying that the Exp. needed isnt rising with the levels? I dont remember if that game does that or not. Im trying to play it right now, but my first disc is messed up and it keeps freezing. (Never buy games off Ebay, even if the feedback is 100%) I dont know why I dont remember that. I've beat it on PC twice and PS 3-4 times.

Theres always the EXP Egg from FF6.

I definitely think the required exp rises every level, so dont know whats wrong with your game. I can understand that you might not like it like this, as it makes the game far too easy.

Taken directly from my Bradygames Strategy Guide: "Improving Your Characters: This aspect of the game works a bit differently from past Final Fantasy games. Characters will gain exp. by defeating enemies, and then level up when they reach a predetermined amount of accumulated exp. points. However, now all that is required to go up a level is 1000 exp. points, regardless of the level you're trying to achieve. The flip side to this is that your characters' stats increase less from level to level than they have in past Final Fantasy games."

page 4 of the guide, first paragraph on the page.

~Edit~ I think this should answer your question.

I dont know if you have the guide or not. But that is taken word for word from my guide. I've typed previously the page number so you can see for yourself. And, no, nothing is wrong. Its just something that you were'nt sure about and we forgot about! lol. Hope I helped.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I beat the PC game recently for the first time.
Squall was level 100 and the others were around 70 or so.
Junction good magic and GFs and you'll be fine.

The exp is always 1k to level up and the one who has the finishing blow gains more exp unless you used a summon or magic to kill the monsters in which case the exp is same for all.

The sad thing is, unless you use the stat+ abilities, the battles at low levels will be so much easier than at higher ones:]
