View Full Version : Boil Em' Mash Em' Stick Em' in a Stew...
So anyway I was sitting here in front of my computer, eating a baked potato with sour cream and nacho cheese while watching White Chicks so I could laugh at that part where they're in the car and the one girl is like "omg i can't believe u said teh n word!" and then my roommate walks in and says "OMG EW THATS NASTY" and I said "what's nasty?" and he was like "You're eating the skin!" and I was like "wtf gtfo".
So do you eat the potato skin? Also how do you like your potatoes best? I prefer twice-baked. :D
The skin is the best part!
I like potatoes all sorts of ways, but baked is probably my favorite.

This thread title is the best ever.
Also, I do not eat the potato skins, just because they don't taste very good, in my opinion. Twice-baked is really really good though! But I am also fond of steamed potatoes. With butter.

Not since last year when I threw up. There was a huge, partially digested potato skin floating right in the middle of the toilet... :( *shudders*
However, I do eat those TGI Friday's potato skin chip things.

It depends on how it's prepared. I dont like the skins in my mashed tatoes, and I dont like them from my baked either. But definitly in other ways.

I dont like baked potatoes.....too goody-two-shoes for me. I prefere Roasted, fried (guess you would call this a french fry), grilled or mashed. But when I do eat baked potatoes I stay well away from eating the skins. Theres definatly something nasty about them.

Mmm potatoes, mmmm....one of the best foods ever. The skin is good, I'll eat it sometimes, just whatever my mood is on that given day. I like french fries the best. x.x

If the spud has been baked or microwaved, then the skin is fine. Not mashed, though.
Isn't it true that there's a whole lot of nutritional value in the skin?

Yes. A lot of it.
Only if it's mashed, as I can't taste it then.
Besides that, uh, nope.

Potato skin is the best. Roasted potato with skin on it is love.
Sometimes. I suppose it just depends for me. Although: roast potatoes win for me - not baked. :D

Here in Ireland we eat potatoes all the time and I've only like, twice seen somoene eat it with the skin on. I dont. Roast potatoes are delicious. Especially when theyre especally crunchy.

If baked, definitely, yeah. Same with boiled and I think scalloped. They have to be clean, though.
Scalloped potatoes and mashed potatoes are godly.

The skin is the most nurtitious part, too.
"new potatoes" which you eat in the summer and which have a very thin skin (impossible to peel off) I eat with the skin. Otherwise I always take it off.
I like potatoes in all forms really..

I like baked potatoes, but they take forever to cook in a conventional oven. So sometimes I'll just throw one in even if I don't want one, cause by the time it's done, who knows?

I only eat potato skins if they're well prepared, however, I always prefer my potatoes totally skinless. If they aren't prepared well, I'd rather eat my own vomit.

The sensible kind who doesn't want to waste time reading a book heavy enough to crush a small child, or a set of films long enough to cause a person to become chemically bonded to their cinema seat.
