octagon rod can be bought in esto gaza but only after kuja kidnapps eiko and you need to get dark matter from the treno auction house and equip it to garnet for her to learn odin.

ps PM me if you need help in other bits of ff9
pps you can get an abilty called odins sword in ipsins castle by first going to a room that has a giant sword on the wall picking up a pot waling clookwise once or twice and putting it back.

dark matter is very expensive
so have a lot of money at the time

the trick is to have about 100k of gill and let the other items be acutioned to other people and put a bid on the darkmatter only.

Hey, Ive just tried to go into Esto Gaza and Im on Disc 4.. and it wont let me in..

oh i assumed you where on disk 2 or 3 after you come back from terra you lose your chance to buy it. you can also get more than one darkmatter from trenos auction house when thrown do 9999 damage to anything.

Yeah that sucks, cause its not in any chocographs. I never really used the -ga spells later in the game anyways, just stick with Doomsday and Flare. Oh and its the Iifa Tree's roots that wont let you in Esto Gaza
