Didn't you think it was annoying? I mean why did we have to waste time just to do a test!

What do you think? What was your grades?

What type of test is that? What country are you from? I ask because you may have some different country test that I don't recognize. Are those like the ELAs?

The internet is full of americans, but that's because we're overwilling to waste our money on this instead of other american things such as baseball and drinking.

No, you see- The basic skills test is just a boring test and doesn't determine if you are going to the next grade or not. It's just a basic skills test that wastes your time! you do it in primary school in australia

I remember every year having this test that was called like... Timaru test or something stupid like that. The paper it was printed on made me sick, it seemed like it was always the same questions and it always had the same crappy print job.

I also didn't do very well at them because maths makes my teeth hurt

In Australia (maybe just NSW), the Basic Skills test is something you take twice, once in Year 3 and another time in Year 5. The Year 3 one prepares the child for the OC (oppportunity class) exam in Year 4 which decides the child goes to an elite school to complete primary education or not. The Year 5 one prepares the child for the Selective school exam which decides whether the child will go to an uber high school (the governments answer to private schools) or a normal one.

I did bad in both and still went to selective. Take that education system.

The Question: what happens to the rattle snakes if the rodents all die?
My answer: There will be a decrease in numbers due to a lack of food.
Teacher answers:There will be more hawks because they eat more lizards.
me:wtf?

I have my sats in may!:(

The test determined what "set" I was in for certain subjects at Secondary School.

So: No. It wasn't a waste of time or useless.

I absolutely aced the numarecy section in the year 5 test and I went to a /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gifty highschool and eventually dropped out. Man those tests are silly.

We have these tests here in Illinios. Except you have to take them every other year from grades 1-12...so all of them. I think it is even numbered grades.
