Anyway, I'm getting confused, I'm not sure if I should play the Official English Translations or the Fan Translations... what do you think, I mean, It gets so confusing when they say "Edward Sucks" or whatever... so I could relate better with the english translations, but the officials have things like "Dark Wave" but they call the moogles, moglies... I cannot play when they call the moogles moglies... so what do you think? (I said the same thing again, habit o mine)

BUT THIS Lady wants to play FF4 and FF6!

find a good fan translation. um I think de-jap does that but I cant remember. For ff4, you can even get a porno book.

I doubt she wants porn... ;P. Go play the roms...they're free. And in any case, if you dislike the roms you can always buy 'em.

OKAY, None of you really truly helped me out, I'm asking if I should play the official translations or the fan-made?

Go official you spoony bard

I agree you son of a submariner.

Either way, it depends, games like FF4 (Or 2 in the US) had a horrible original translation (Although it had the Spoony bard line), FF6/3, on the other hand, had a rather good one, although a few things went missing in the script and some enemies got their names changed for no reason at all (Ultima Weapon became Atma Weapon, not that I'm complaining) and other stuff, although some characters, such as Kefka, became more entertaining in the localization.

So it's just a matter of opinion.

now DIE.

Nay, I'd go for fantranslation. I played both versions and I think fantranslation (to be used as a patch on the original Japanese hardtype version) has the best dialogues.
I also can e-mail it to you if you want me to.

The SNES FFII is a lot of fun to play through for the dialogue, especially if you've read Necro's Power of Cheese comic.
