I downloaded the anime Chobits and it turns out every episode is in a file format called .ogg. I really need to get these burned to DVD so they're playable over DVD players ( like my PS2). Anyone know of a good program that will convert ogg to the DVD format so i can burn them or even to AVI so i can convert them from there with Nereo Vision Express? Convertign them to AVI would be preferable. that way i can make menus and crap. thanks.

Ogg? You'll probably find it's .ogm if it's video :p

VirtualDubMod (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=65889) can handle ogm files and can convert them directly to avi without quality loss if you know what you're doing :p

The tricky part will be installing an ogg decoder on his DVD player :P, seeing as the audio probably is in ogg format.
-Edit-
Reading the posts in their entirety is smart. I suppose it'll work if you use a program to convert them to the standard DVD format, but that program will still have to support ogg vorbis audio.

This hasn't been in my week. VirtualDubMod gives me an error everytime i open one of the OGM videos. it says - "Couldn't locate decompressor for format "DX50'(unknown). VirtualDubMod requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow Codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is avaiable for this video." wtf does that mean lol

Can PS2s play DVD+-R's if they're not games though eg movies? I had no problem playing burnt audio CD-RWs on a normal PS2 :p

And since you'll be direct streaming from ogm to avi anyway, that message isn't much of a problem for you :p

If it was just sound, maybe you really did get .ogg's ;]

How big are the files?

They're video files.
You need to get Xvid to decompress the video, when you do that vdm will show you the video and by saving as a direct stream copy as a .avi file you can watch it or burn it.

they're like 250+ mb each. They are .ogm. just that .ogg was in the file name. And the Xvid thing works, i can direct stream copy them, but there isn't any audio, just video. well, this is some progress.
