How has the internet affected your family/friends? :)

The other day I was going to use the computer, and my little brother of 13 passed by and said all excitedly while laughing: "Jess! I was muted on Runescape! I was SPAMMING! On Runescape! Hahahaha!" I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, or yell "Run! Escape!" :p

Other than that, my parents have become avid internet shoppers, especially around the holidays, since they'd rather just shop on Amazon.com for our relatives than go to the store. xD

Run escape ftw <3

I'm not sure that the internet have affected my parents, but the Hearts game has.

They mastered freecell and went on to another.

My mom thinks she's technologically advanced because she can operate emails now. :/
Definitely has changed my family. My father works for Bellsouth which is the monopoly concerning technology in the U.S.
So we've been exposed to several different communication technologies.

My parents doesn't even know to go online! xD But my bro and sis goes online almost everyday. I spend much of my time online; shopping; chatting; surfing. :p

Things are pretty much the same with my parents, I don't talk to them a whole lot and they don't hardly talk to me. It's brought my brother and I closer, since we can chat on AIM and mostly when we gather and bond, we spend time playing video games, whether it be on the computer or not.

But oh boy, I know another thing it's affecting. ;-; My grades.

You can find me online a lot of the time. Especially now that I don't have to share the family computer. It's my 4th social life aside of school/band, church, and family.

My little brother is addicted to RuneScape (I say Run Escape to bug him). He probably plays it more than he sleeps. My step-mom does all the bills online and makes a steady income off of eBay.

My mom's and step-dad's buisness is mostly run online selling trading cards. They're pretty much experts and are often seen working on the computer.

My parents are proficient with email and my dad uses the Internet to research a lot of things, so I suppose it has helped them. They don't use it for shopping as much, and it's always a hassle for me to teach them about the new technological advances.

My mother is scared to even turn the PC on and off.

My dad is a second degree software engineer, and my little brother (nearly 14) is fast becoming a computer geek. There's hope. :)

My brother gave up on the pc because he says i live on it and he never gets a turn. :) ?

My Mum is Ebay obsessed and my Dad is just hopeless. He asked me and my brother to make him an email address. So we did. "Pc_noob@.." He didn't like it when we explained what noob meant xD

It causes a problem in our household with three (or four when my brother is home, like now) people all fighting for internet time and one computer. My brother and I are definitely the best at the Internet though. My dad is kind of a slow typer and that annoys me for some reason. :)

I have my mom on my MSN list...I debate at times whether or not it is good...She still nags, but I love her.

'Cept my dad, and he uses it for official/business stuff. BORING! :D But the fact that he can is always a threat to my deep dark online secrets. :(

The computer stays in my room, so my parents don't use it as much. When they do, it's usually for shopping and usually when I'm trying to sleep/nap. So, the internet causes us to fight sometimes. My parents also like to threaten to take the internet away when they're angry at me. XD

Most of the fights I have with friends happen online too, for some reason.

My mom is into that whole classmates thing where you find people you went to school with and whatnot. Other than that I don't know though.

I know of a certian generation that should stay far away from the internets.

My mom has done a significant amount of Christmas shopping over the internet for the past few years. That's about it for her.
And since my dad's in Iraq, it keeps me in contact with him.

My dad spends all day playing games online or reading scary psycho "news" pages or going in Jihad IRC channels to harass people. While he's supposed to be watching my brother and sister. How the hell does a three-year-old have time to flood the entire kitchen and hallway with his caretaker sitting no more than ten feet away in the same room? :aimmad:

My grandpa spends an hour or two a day... reading... stuff. *shrug*

But I do get to talk to my cousins a lot more. We chat and stuff. It's fun.
