Ok, let's take an obscure subject of debate and slam it head first into the hulking abomination called Spam dominating this forum, shall we ?

Some people would support the argument that a Jack is a Jack. Others would support the argument that a Jack is not a Jack but a Knave. Logically then we can conclude that Jacks are not Knaves and Knaves are not jacks.

So, what do you call them ?

Knave.

I don't see how it is a debate, though.

I wager it is actually a trick, so that those foolish enough to say Jack can be noted for later extermination.

You're not supposed to reply until I've finished editing it. You see, I forgot to make it into a poll.

Sorry !!!!

Lets get this obscure subject of debate going, and then turn it into spam. And then it can go and marry the other spam. And they can have spam children, and they can eat spam for breakfast, dinner, and tea. They will occasionally have the odd spam supper, but only for a special treat.

I think it's a Viking warcry, Psy.

Subjectively, a jack is just a guy. A knave is a scroundel of either sex.

But I guess it could be an issue to people who like to get confused that soda is pop or vice versa. Sigh.

spam is what people in 'opposite land' use to find their way from one place to another.

it was actually in 1843 that the name Jack was popularised for the card also known as knave in a deck of cards. It has enjoyed varying degrees of success, until today, when it has all but completely superceded the use of the word knave when using playing cards.

This statement is false. This statement is false. This statement is false. This statement is false. This statement is false. This statement is false. This statement is false. This statement is false. This statement is false. or is it?

The "card-that-isn't-queen-king-or-ace" is supposed to be of a Prince, a scoundrel fits in more with that than a labourer.

That said, I was brought up on Jack, Queen, King; that's where I stand.
