What do you think about lying? Do you think it's okay to lie if the situation calls for it? Or do you think lying in general is utterly and completely wrong?

I don't really have a problem with it. I think that honesty is usually simpler, and probably healthier for the most part, but deception and imagination are really part of being human. People should just try to think out the consequences that their actions will have before taking them.

If you don't go overboard, it does make things easier for people who don't like confrontation, but lies have a nasty habit of piling up.

And I lie for, only you, and I lie well, hallelujah.

Lying's so useful. But my advice is; if you can't lie well, kid, don't do it.

Lies are nice when they make people feel better.

I have a knack for improvisation - concocting stuff on the spot if it needs be. I don't like it, though.

Bending and avoiding the truth however...

On a serious scale noone likes lies. Like about money or belongings or just social interactions period.

Now lying to someone about how they look or opinion I'd say, no. Like if a girl asked if she looks ugly in something it's peoples nature to be nice so they'd say they look fine, ecetera.

Lies are perfectly fine. Morality has absolutly no scientific grounds. It is something made by humans, for no real perpose.

If I can, I prefer not to lie. But I occasionally tell either white lies or lie to save my ass.
However, I like the feeling of tranquillity that telling the truth gives you.

"This statement is false."

I'm particularly against lying. It removes potential truth from the world.

i find the tendency to lie in order to protect myself or b/c i rather not face someone screaming and yelling into my ears. it's a rude/selfish side of me, but there are times where i think "did i really have to lie?" if someone is really important to me, i try to break the habit. i don't know why i would have so many things to hide.

luckily, i haven't gone down the "there was an old woman who swallowed a fly" syndrome...
