Currious, what is your favorite Christmas song, and why?

Mine is 'O Holy Night' simply for the astetic pleasure of the song, and the standar lyrics. Very pretty.

We used to sing it every year for Choir concerts while I was in High School. The Alumini were welcome to come forward and sing it as well.

The one where Santa gets drunk on sherry and cheap alcopops and then ends up stabbing a child in the face. I can't remember its name now, can anyone help?

I don't know the title but it goes....
chestnuts roasting on an open fire...
I don't know the rest.
I heard it in a joke and ever since I've been a bit amused by it.

I don't think a fabulous performance of "O Holy Night" can be beat. The grandeur of the high note is amazing.

I also like "I Have Seen The Light."

Deck the Nut Cracker Hall. It's an awesome mix of Deck the Halls and Sugar Plum Fairy. It's the lyrics of Deck The Halls, except it's dark and haunting and has the melody of Sugar Plum Fairy and I love it so much! We're singing it in chorus. :)

Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas is You.

It's been 11 years and it's still the #1 song during the Holidays.

Totally stole my answer. *kick*

Last year at church this perfect little girl in a perfect little Christmas dress with perfect little ringlets in her hair stood in front of a huge Christmas tree and sung it and I totally teared up it was sooooo cute.

Greensleeves, which is an extended version of What Child is This. It's hard to explain, but Greensleeves wasn't a Christmas song, but later they made it into What Child is This, and it became one. *shrug*

Either:
That one by Wizzard- 'I Wish it Could Be Christmas Every Day'
Or, for some inexplicable reason
That one about a spaceman, including the lines 'A spaceman came travelling, on a ship from a far' and 'Aaaaaa-aaaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaa-aah!' I really don't know why.

everclear did a cover of that song, which is so much better than that chick that sings it. Art Alexakis is sex.

Mine is "God Rest Ye, Merry Gentleman" The Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLaughlin (yeah, I can't spell her name) did a rendition of it that is so wonderful.
