Can the PS2 only play movies on DVD's or on normal CD's also? And can it play burned discs (movies, not games)?

DVD's burnt in VOB format will work fine on a PS2. But it won't read CD-R disc's.

You would need to mod you PS2 and/or use special software to play video files burned to a normal CD most likely.

I've played burned audio CDs in a PS2 before without problem.

Making a CD though with video in normal DVD format plus file structure and trying to play that on a PS2, however, is something I haven't tried but it certainly sounds interesting :p I'm not even sure if you can make such discs :p

Thanks all, I'll try out the VOB's. CDs sounds like too much trouble.

movies on cds?

I should have said video files, like an avi or mpq instead. :)

Normal burned audio CDs should play just fine in the PS2.
