it's where you can change what happens in the game a bit like using aeirs after she died thing like that

Nay. It's a room used by the game programmers for testing battles and stuff like that.
However, it's only accessible via Game Shark codes, from what I understood.

surely by taking it out they could free some data space to stick other stuff in

btw:
im not quite sure how the ghost is so great, im guessing super Aerith fans wrote that hoping she could be revived cause of her ghost that could easily be a giltch

I thought in FF7 if you die you turn to lifestream. Whats a ghost doing here? As for the debug room,isn't there some type of button you can press to reaccess it in game play? I'm not sure.

The ghost is a very well-known glitch that only occurs if Aeris isn't in your party.
