Are there Final Fantasy games where you can play two player?

I read somewhere that someone mentioned one of the final fantasy games had the options of two players

Is this true? Which one is it? I would love to check it out.

FF6 could support 2 players, but it sucked.

Secret of Mana actually pulled it off pretty nice. I remember me and my best friend arguing over who'd get to use the spear.

Yep, FF9 is two player, but only in combats. You can assign the characters to different controllers, so you can control two each or something. :p Nothing all that special. Best multiplayer FF is FFXI ;)

He said TWO player. TWO player FFXI would be boring as hell. You'd never get a pt, especially since both players would probably be DDs with gimp subs.

Damn, imagine if there was only one Taru and one Galka. Oh the racism. :o

Downloaded secret of mana for snes but didnt get any options that let me choose 2player. How do I do that? Do you have to do it ingame or something?

You have to start playing, get a second character (I think you get the sprite first, it's been a while), and then if I recall correctly you can set it up in the ring menu. Somewhere.

Sweet thanx, will do that. :)

You do the same if you play ffVI?

You guys have been great. Never expected answers this quick. :D

FF6 isn't really 'two player,' you can only allow the option for a second player to control certain characters--in battle sequences only.

You can play multiplayer in Tactics advance.

Um... Crystal Chronicles allowed up to four players. It was a lot of fun at first, but got old FAST.

I used to play FF9 with my brother I usually only got Freya and Eiko though
besides that nobody I know likes rpg's so i am forced to play by myself.
KH would've been great if it were two player.
