Has, according to you, manga style drawing any sense at all, once you're not Japanese? Is it really worth it?
Can it, through genre fusion, give origin to something really new and original?
Yes or no?
Do you know any GOOD examples of contamination, especially if they have gotten attention from the comics world?

Sure it can.

Blue Monday (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Monday_%28comic%29) and Scott Pilgrim (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Pilgrim) are two relatively renowned manga-inspired comic books.

I don't mind Americans using the manga style, so long as it's done well. I don't see it as something only the Japanese can do or can do right, especially with all of the absolutely terrible manga and anime out there.

So as far as this goes, I'm just going to say draw to the style you like to use. Don't draw because it's more popular or mainstream.

Joe Madureira is probably the most well-known American comic book artist for the fusion style. Check out any of his X-Men work or Battle Chasers.

Well, we've always got Void and Steffox ^_~
But besides them Åsa Ekström rocks! ^_^ She is a fantastic example.
She's from sweden and are currently drawing both illustrations for youth and childrens books, and manga ^_^
Some of her stuff are; "Lantisar", "Stilikon (http://www.stilikon.tk/)", "Kishako" and "Stall Norrsken". ^^ and she is also publicing her art in the magazin "Manga Mania"...
hmmm... don't think she has anything translated into english just yet.
