View Full Version : Platinum Match in KH2

I was just curious as to what everyoen thinks the Platinum Match should be in KH2.

I have two ideas, either Gilgamesh, one of the most popular villians from the FF series or X-Death (baddie of FFV - except they will give him a name for then lets pay him out! Nameless villain!):

Gilgamesh would be very fast and would make unexpected movements. One moment he'd be on one side of the arena and them he'd rush over the the other and then pointlessly back again.

He would also counter magic and attacks. This would work like this - if you cast a long-range magic on him he'd simply counter and slice through you. For a normal counter it'd be like in KH1. After his first defeat you would have to defeat his second form and then after that his final form. All forms would equal the equivalent HP of Sephiroth in KH1.

HP 1200
MP 150
STR 79
DEF 59

He'd be way harder than the challenge-less Sephiroth though.

As for X-Death he'd have a name instead of an honourific title and he'd use his main attacks such as Whiteball (same effect as Sephiroth's Death move for those who didn't though, except it also paralyses the character for an instant).

He wouldn't transform to his proper form, and he'd stick to his armor cover-up. Which looks cool. HE'd be veyr powerful and using moves such as Whiteball, Meteo and Firaga (the weakest of all three) he'd be a tough opponent. His attacks would rip into your HP and severely slow down movement of the character (not quite as bad as Ice Titan in KH!!!!!)

HP 1200
MP 280
STR 85
DEF 72

And that's all I thought about so far.

Both Gilgamesh and X-Death are from FFV.

Uh hello Seymour as a platinum match thread and KH has HP bars not numbers.1) This thread is different.
2) Bosses DO have HP numbers, even though you can't see them.

Ultima Weapon would, obiviously, be awesome!

Go to the menu (do so by either going to a save point or pressing the START button to the right-center of the PS2 Dualshock 2 Controller) then go to Status. Then view the HP, MP and AP area. The bar is because it suits Disney better and makes the battle-system simplier.

So there is HP numbers. For a full bar of green the HP is around 240 - ish but not always. So for five bars the HP is roughyl around 1200 - exact same as The Phantom.

And what did you mean about Seymour?

Um...okay. He means that there is already a thread about this. "Seymourj as a platinum match" is the name of it.1) Not same kind of thread. In the Seymour as plantinum match thread, the topic was "Seymour as plantinum match". The topic in this thread is "What do YOU think would be a good plantinum match". It's completely different.
2) That thread was closed. It's dead and won't be revived! It is no more! It's gone! It's R-I-P!

Anyways... I like the topic of this thread, so...

Being a challange freak, I obiviously want a "HARD" super boss for once.

Ultima Weapon

Apperance: Ultima Weapon is about as big as the Behemoth from KH1. He looks like Ultima Weapon from FF8 and wields the uber powerful Ultima Weapon sword!

Weakness: You must hit the upper part of Ultima Weapon's double-body. Ultima Weapon has no elemental weakness.

HP: 1,200
MP: 300
Str: 100
Def: 88

The battle's divided into 5 stages:

Stage1: Ultima Weapon quickly jumps back and forth while swinging his gigantic blade and causing powerful shockwaves whenever he hits the ground. You can't get up on Ultima's back like you can with, for example Cerberus and the Behemoth, but you'll have to perform aerial attacks in front of him. Whenever you're far away, Ultima will rush towards you at an incredible speed (almost twice as fast as Super Glide) and if you don't get away in time, you'll be crushed (3 times as powerful as the normal sword swipe).

Stage2: Ultima Weapon flies high into the air and then falls down into the middle of the arena, releasing 10 fast, powerful shockwaves and then starts rushing around, causing small and pretty weak shockwaves, with every singel step while at the same time releases homing energy balls every now and then. Sometimes, he stops and charges up a "Light Pillar" attack (if you've faced him in FFVIII, you probably know what this means)! During the charge he's vurneable, but unlike Sephiroth's "Sin Harvest", Ultima won't stop charging just because you hit him.
He'll be charging for about 5 seconds, so if you're not fast enough it might be a bit risky to do aerial attacks right in fron of him... because if get hit, you're dead... since Light Pillar reduces your HP to 0, and then 0 again just in case you had "second chanse" equiped. When Ultima Weapon releases "Light Pillar", it immediately is stretched to the other side of the arena. Ultima Weapon then, while still using light pillar, shakes his body wildly causing the light pillar moving a short distance in random directions. Light Pillar lasts for about 3 seconds. Afterwards, Ultima is once again vurneable for a short period of time.

Stage3) Ultima Weapon flies up in the air and becomes invurneable. He then releases 2 Ultima Beams into the middle of the arena, which then starts to move at the speed of "Super Glide" in random directions all over the entire Arena. After 10 seconds, Ultima also starts firing those homing energy balls at you (still using Ultima Beams). He fires 1 energy ball every 3 seconds. After another 18 seconds, Ultima falls down on the ground releasing 10 fast and powerful shockwaves.
Then, he starts shaking the ground, causing 1 big shockwave every 3 seconds while at the same time releasing black energy into the ground which results in the ground right below you turning black and then exploding into black flame-thingies (Cerberus in KH1 uses this move but Ultima Weapon's version is much more powerful). You'll have to reach Ultima Weapon and hit him with a combo in the face. Once you've hit Ultima Weapon, he blows you away to one of the corners of the area and then you'll have to reach him again etc. When half of Ultima's 3 bar is gone, he releases 1 shockwave every 2 seconds instead of every 3 seconds.

Stage4) Terra Break! Ultima Weapon becomes invurneable and flies high into the air and then releases a swarm of fast, powerful and homing small stars. The stars can be blocked, though. He releases 2 stars a second. After about 7 seconds, he dives towards you, causing shockwaves as he lands. He then repeats the swing sword jumping from stage1, but faster. Once every minute, he'll fly into the air and do Terra Break.

Stage5) THIS is where the "fun" begins. The hard part, that is. The part where you throw the controller into the wall and curses the very existence of this boss.

Ultima Weapon starts off by flying high into the air and uleashing a Terra Break, followed up by long-lasting Sephy-style flame pillars in every corner and in the middle of the arena while at the same time unleashing ANOTHER Terra Break and then, he finally finish with a Ultima Weapon-style Omnislash... which is basically the same as that of Sephy in KH1, except that Ultima's is more powerful, each hit has a wider reach AND Ultima Weapon touches the ground every now and then, releasing a shockwave, during his "Omnislash". The "ending strike" of Ultima Weapon's "Omnislash", results in a big blast that causes fireballs to fly up in the sky and then rain down at random locations on the battlefield.
After this, Ultima becomes vurneable for 5 seconds.
After those 5 seconds, Ultima Weapon rushes around on the battlefield, jumping back and forth while striking with his sword, unleashing homing energy balls AND "Light Pillars" with only 2 seconds charge up time. The only time he ever stands still is during the 2 seconds he's charging Light Pillar... but you won't have time to hit him in those 2 seconds, so you'll have to try to hit him while he's rushing around like crazy instead. Once half his bar gone, he'll repeat the Terra Break and Omnislash thingy, but he won't become vurneable after the final strike of the Omnislash, instead he'll once again fly into the air and unleash 4 Ultima Beams, then an undodgeable red beam-thingy that will reduce your MP to 0.

Since it's undodgeable, you'll have no other choise than to keep fighting with 0 MP (or restore the MP). The very second your MP has been reduced to 0, he'll call forth 10 demons. Every demon has 240 HP, 50 Str and 30 Def. They both move and attack very fast and have the ability to shot fireballs (Firaga magic). Once you've killed all of those (they won't drop any recovery balls or items), Ultima Weapon falls down on the ground again, in the middle of the arena, blowing you to away to one of the edges and unleashing double shockwaves every 3 seconds while firing homing energy balls AND that black energy thingy. You'll have 10 seconds to reach him. If you're to slow, he'll blow you away again. Once you've hit him, he'll return to the "rushing around while firing energy balls and Light Pillars" BUT this time, he'll be even faster AND there's a permanent "black energy" effect on the arena, until you've beaten him or, more likely, got beaten yourself.

I disagree on your use of Light Pillar. As in FFVIII, it shouldn't negate Second Chance (if Ultima used Light Pillar to wipe out your last party member, Phoenix could still resurrect you).

The thing is, Second Chanse makes things too easy. That's why Light Pillar somehow should negate its effect. Oh well... I guess the best thing would be if it wasn't in KH2 at all. :greenie:
