Why does it have to be so addictive? I thought I was over my POKéMON phase that was until someone bought me the latest version, Emerald. I've spend the last two days doin' nothing but; eat; shower; sleep and playing POKéMON. I remember doin' this ten years ago when the first game came out, but I never thought I'd still be doin' it a decade later. xD

By the way, I know it's "cool" to hate POKéMON but it's actually a splendid RPG.

How many are available in Emerald? I remember I really disliked the first GBA one they made (Ruby and Sapphire was it?) because you could only catch limited ones, and pretty much none of the really good old ones were available.

Pokemon Crystal represents the pinacle of pokemon-dom. I actually built up my cute little cindaquill to a level 99 typhlosion. I probably could have spent the time a little more profitably studying or working, or studying how to work, or working to study, or counting the ceiling tiles in my dorm room, but I couldn't help myself. It was fun.

Nintendo always makes fun games. They may not be as visually appealing or as big as Sony or Microsuck, but they're always fun. and you can play them till you're sick of them, put them aside, come back years later (in the case of the NES) and the games are still fun! :D

I was pretty hooked on Pokemon once-upon-a-time. My favourites were Fire type pokemon. I still have a Fire deck lying around somewhere with 4 Charizards. It wasn't very good. xD

I played Pokemon Red and a little bit of Gold. I finished Ruby once but my heart was never in it, I didn't have the same desire to remember every Pokemon and commit it's attacks, strengths and weaknesses to memory. I love the original 150 (+ Mew) Pokemon. All the new ones include weird crap like Wailmer. What the hell is Wailmer?! And what's up with that stupid grin?

Favourite Pokemon? Probably Charizard or Cyndaquil. Maybe Eevee.

I've noticed that it seems that most 5-11 year olds love Pokemon, 12-15 year olds hate it and diss it whenever it comes up in everyday conversation, and 16+ year olds like it and like talking about it.

As for me, I believe I still have my old Red version gathering dust in my GBA case. For favorite Pokemon, I'll simply do it for each set of games.

the anime was awesome at first.... but then they really never got to the main goal, puked on the idea of it, then decided to go on a mindless romp of pointless travel.

Bah, all those new edition pokemon cards and new pokemons.. I say they shoulkd have gone with the 150 first. well maybe 200 but all those new editions of the cards got me confused.

I only REALLY loved Blue version, Yellow a bit less..Gold was alright, but it got stolen, (although I got another copy for christmas, yay) Silver totally owned Gold, Crystal bored me, Sapphire really bored me, LeafGreen bored me and irritated me with how much they changed the original, Emerald was alright, bu boring, besides, it got stolen (Bloody damn thieves and stealing Pokemon related stuff!)

Belly Drum+Rest+Body Slam + a backup move for ghosts = Ownage in G/S/C. I haven't tried it on the newer versions though.

omg pokemon rules :P i kept all my level 100 pokemon and traded them over when the next version came out so i had silver version with some 14 level 100 pokemon :P

espeon, snorlax and blissey were the worst. they were hardcore bitches to beat. that red who hid in the caves at the end of silver with all his level 80 pokemon used to annoy me. espeon would put up a bleedin barrier then he'd pull out snorlax and you couldnt touch him :mad:

my faves: articuno was the most beautiful he rocked. dragonite, tyranitar charizard and lapras :)

Edit~On emerald and fire red/leaf green, you need two certain tickets to get Lugia Ho oh and deoxeys. However this is where nintendo cheats us once more. You need to go to a nintendo event in order to get these tickets. Are these tickets avaliable on a Game Shark or Action Replay? If so got a link?

Compared to the newer Pokemon of today, Psychic types are crap if you are armed with a Dark type move or have a dark pokemon on your side.

it appears to me that when you capture mew, he will have the same stats as the poliwag you were meant to have fought from the gambler. since the gambler battle is being remembered. possibley this would also result in it leveling up similar to a poliwag. a mew caught by any other method would likley be stronger. all you have is a poliwag which looks like a mew
