I like 5B but 2 1/2=HB has its moments. What about you?

I only have B pencils or something, so 2B. It's hard, but not so hard that it feels like a regular pencil.

HB is the best because it's the only one you can get easily without forking out a fiver for the whole range of shades

I tend to use something about HB, because that's what most pencils are. When I'm sketching I use a vaierty. I don't really have a favourite, but I hate hard ones because they leave a horrible chicken scratch mark, and are rubbish for shading.
