Nah, seriously, Hermoine never actually is overly interested with Harry in the books, but rather Ron towards the later books, but the movies just LOVE to make it seem like Hermoine has the hots for Harry.

The other books werent like that but this one is page after page of. "then rons mouth was glued to another girls" and "Harrys feelings for rons sister were growing so he snogged her there and then"

Well, that's your stand-point on it, but I'm sure there are just as many people that enjoy all of it being in there. Personally I think it helps getting to know the characters even more than we already did. It makes them seem more like everyday people, and I think that's what people identify with.

That'd always been apparent to me despite having never read the books. My mom's been reading them lately so I could ask her the goings-on in Goblet of Fire if I desperately wanted to know . . . but I really don't.
You're right that at times the camera makes it seem that Herm and Har are gonna be at each other like rabbits. It's usually the storytellers goal to make the main character a paragonal vacuum. You expect that all the best and most exciting things will happen to him and him alone because you're meant to see more of yourself in him. I mean, the books and movie are called Harry Potter. You, of course, when reading or watching these stories would want to see yourself as part of the main story and not some silly side plot . . . and, of course, it is human nature to be a little greedy. I used to think that way when I was a boy (10 or 11 maybe).

Yes! :D It disturbs me, because it felt like the story was moving around the snogs as opposed to the snogs moving around the story.

Also, Ron is too good for Hermione by far.
