It does, but it's trying to portray this feeling that Locke is always searching for something (hint: RACHEL) and he's not exactly so fond of Terra or Celes in the beginning. Well, just an opinion...

Well, I played through the Celes rescuing part just yesterday.
And I can say Lock always was fond of both.
When he first meets Terra, he swears he'l protect her, and he does the same with Celes. Plus, when she asks him why he's helping her, he answers "you remind me of someone I knew". So even if it is debatable if Lock liked Celes only because she reminded him of Rachel, indeed he did like her.

He was fond of both, but until he got closure on Rachel he was incapable of feeling true love for anyone else because of his guilt over Rachel’s death.

Yeah, Frionel was the very first FF main character. The second one would probably be Cecil in FFIV since in FFI and FFIII the characters don't have names premade for the story and don't have the complexities of the other characters.

Uhhhm. As far as I know FFII didn't have names for the characters either...
ff2 had names.firion,maria,gus and leon were the final members in the origins version.there were some others,too.

that,i am not sure about.but i think those names were in the original ff2,since people say firion initially have a name of "frionel" and i think "frionel" came from the original ff2.can anyone enlighten us please.
