most kids who are diagnose with ADD and some with ADHD don’t really have it... they are just restless or board, but teachers seem to think that if a kid cant sit still in a desk for 6 hrs (going by elementary school when most kids are diagnosed) they must be put on medication. I am an example of this, I was told I had ADD in 4th grade but I didn’t like the effects my pills had on me, so I threw them away and went to a doctor several months later, it turned out I was just board…

>>> Not me.
But my little brother seems to have this ADHD thing, but its nothing that a few punches and kicks cant fix. ;)

Yes I do, with social anxiety disorder, making it hard to do activities such as jobs, school, pretty much any group things.

I think that if we sorta stopped watching television this whole ADD and ADHD problem would go away.

But what do I know; I've only got three nephews suffering from it.

(except aidan isn't old enough to care about tv yet so he's still sweet and loveable)

There isn't any correlation between television habits and learning disorders.

Your hyper and can't pay attention.

I have it, I excercise a lot of self control over it though.

Thanks. I don't think I have it. I'm not hyperactive at all, quite the opposite.

It's highly likely; is it possible to have bouts of ADHD? Not all the time, sometimes I feel like I have ADHD, and I'm not really able to stop my hyperactivity. :p

Edit: My mother just called me a lethargic, sloth-like pig who is as opposed to hyperactive, hypo-active (:confused:) and basically a lazy thing who ought to clean her room up. Shoots my theories in the toe. :mad2:

Why do doctors try to turn every facet of personality into a disorder? As Dolentrean said he was diagnosed with having ADD just because he was bored. If we all went to the doctors and talked about our personalitys im quite sure we'd all be diagnosed with some sort of disorder, and be sent home with some drugs to remedy the "problem". If it was up to the NHS (national hell service) we'd all be drugged up zombies.
