Might be a stupid question, but can you buy individual keys for laptop keyboards? Because my "?" key is buggered. :(

It works fine - when its attachted to my keyboard, but it falls off a lot and its driving me mad! Can you buy them on their own, does anybody know? :O

ya wat kind of laptop? I'm not sure about individual keys. Any local computer place should be able to answer it. Usually, if they don't have it there, you need to order it or something.

A fujitsu Siemens Amilo Laptop. I thought most laptop keys were pretty much the same. xD

Oh no, but of course not. Do they Enter and Q keys look the same? I THINK NOT. *clouts Jesssssssica*

EDIT: I just realized why you asked that. I just asked what kind of laptop you had to copy the legen known as i_wana_b_blck.

Not likely. Keyboards are really cheap, so most computer companies don't even bother.

Regardless of what model it is, I'd say the only way you'll get new keys is to send it to the manufacturer. Just make sure you check with them before you send it off.

A somewhat quicker solution would be just to buy a USB keyboard, which will probably set you back around $US10 now.

You could always try melting a new, homemade clip onto the "?" key yourself. :p

Thing is - I've only had the laptop since October, and its only one key. It doesn't fall off all the time, just every so often when I knock it because I'm going too fast, or something. I was just wondering - I can live with it I suppose. :(

On most laptops, the whole keyboard works as a whole, and is replaced as such. If the laptop is still under warranty, bring it back to the store/manufacturer and they'll replace the faulty keyboard.

Yeah, me' dad's workmate spilt coffee on dad's laptop's keyboard, and he just told Toshiba that they had spilt coffee on it and he got a new keyboard for reasonably cheap.. and easy to install too..

I'm not sure if you can get single keys.. on my laptop it seems as if you could 'cause the keys are all removed seperately, which would suggest being able to replace certain ones.

Tell us how you get on with your quest to find a new keyboard key. :D
