In late July, I had a family emergency come up, and I had to go to CA from Philadelphia PA... my grandmother had passed away and we had to rush out of the door to go to CA with family, friends etc... So I asked my friend to log on, who had quit the game (and at the time I thought he wasnt mad at me), to just log on and tell my friends that I had a family emergency and I could not be there to help them with Chains of Promathia... So as it turns out he was mad I didn't stick up for him in the God LS and he deleted every character of mine... since it is the second time my characters were deleted, they can not be restored again, however they are still in the system... So what I am asking you all is to help me out with this and sign this petition that I will mail to Square-Enix... I am trying to get 1,000 signatures from anyone possible.... Please just help me and other people out... I am aiming for 1,000 signatures... so please if you know anyone who wants to help, or restore their characters, sign this petition, we will mail it to Square-Enix... Thank you all for taking your time to read this... The petition is at http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/ff11restore Thank you all.

Petitions are useless, they won't do anything. Instead you should just contact their help and support through PlayOnline - that's where anything gets done.

I can imagine what response you'll get if you contact a GM.

"Tough luck; you handed out your account information. It's your fault."

They distinctly tell you not to exchange information. I highly doubt that they're going to be sympathetic at all just because of the circumstances (by the way, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother; my grandfather recently died so I can relate a little). I'm not sure that SquareEnix cares enough about a single customer to go through the trouble make exceptions to the rules, especially when they've already told you not to do what you did.

Also, you'll never get enough people to sign your petition for it to even be noteworthy to SE. If you really feel you've got a shot at it, contact someone directly. Personally, I think you're out of luck. I suppose you know what to do (or not to do) the next time you have to leave suddenly and want to tell people.

hmmm, yes.... very true.

if you do ask them that, tell them to remember you are a paying customer and will sue for being inconvinienced without a solution to the problem.

but dont do that anyway, you cant sue SE, there to hawt.

You agreed to the ToS therefore barring you any form of lawsuit because its your own damn fault.
