Oh my, I am so sad right now. I come back to EoFF and my signature is gone, all the code, everything. I am so sad and I want to know who is responsible!

Rainecloud

Just put it back.

The Mods will eventually get tired of editing it.

Kawaii Ryűkishi

Or, you know, put you in the no-signatures user group.

The Jamie Star Scenario
12-23-2005, 02:09 PM
Yeah, but I cannot remember what was in my signature and I cannot be bothered editing it all again.
I think the staff member who removed it should be taught how to use simple bb code that would clear it without getting rid of the actual code. Or just fired, I would be fine with that too.

Just put your epileptic fit inducing picture back in and center it.

That'll do.

It's not a matter of whether I care enough to comment out your signature code. It's a matter of whether you're responsible enough to heed the clearly-posted signature restrictions in the first place.

I want to know the code that hides it, BoB used it during the anniversary thing, and then I forgot

If that was the image, then yeah, I don't blame Kishi for not leaving a comment. You're smart enough to figure it out yo'self (I did that for Kishi).

No.
It was this.

<<b></b>!--stuff--!>, actually.

Hey, Kishi, are YOU the one that wasn't properly closing out the comment tags in sigs? I ran into a few that were messing up threads because the comment tags weren't closed.

Rainecloud

Please remove that signature. I was only joking about the epileptic fit business ... but this new signature really does hurt my eyes.

:(

Request to Mods: Add a new rule regarding signatures, perhaps?

"NO STROBE LIGHTING EFFECTS".

Incorrect. Or, at least the other way works. It's what I've always used, and what was taught to me in my programming class all those years ago.

And Jamie, I'm sorry, but that sig is really annoying.

What an asshole.

I thought you had another strobey one that was less seizure-inducing.

The Jamie Star Scenario

There is no point in having strobes if there isn't seizures or cocaine involved silly :)

Weird. I was taught to comment that way when I started learning HTML. But then again, the last time I learned any new HTML was probably the sixth grade.

I was in college when you were in the sixth grade, kiddo, so we probably learned it at the same time.

I think the idea is that you have lost sig privileges[for a while?].

Which is why you can't edit your signature.

So no, no one's going to put it in for you.

Hsu, it's --&gt; Look at mine, there's about a million in there.

Hey, Kishi, are YOU the one that wasn't properly closing out the comment tags in sigs? I ran into a few that were messing up threads because the comment tags weren't closed.
Kishi does close his tags correctly. What is not done correctly is when members fix something in their sig after it's been commented out and then do not remove all of the comment out tags before saving their sig again. This is why I am at times reluctant to bother with the tags and just opt for removing the whole sig, although this rarely happens unless it's a case of a sig being over the 50 kb limit. Those are all automatically removed.

By the way, how many lines of text does it take to hit the limit? It's not quite as easy to figure as with images...

What was wrong with the original flashing (non-epillepsy-inducing) sig. Flashy sigs aren't inherently annoying. But when you turn it into a barrage of changing colors... meh

Following the clearly posted signature restrictions is smart. Complaining when no one caters to you after you've broken the rules is dumb.

Nuuuu

I like being able to have a sig. The last forum community I got addicted to only let mods and admins have sigs. It sucked. I appreciate the gift of this ability and follow the rules as best I can. In fact (unlike some people) my sigs are usually way under the limit, instead of hitting every limit to a tee

I'm sure glad my signature wasn't removed or the results could have been tragic. With Christmas ruined I might have just hung myself.

The Cid's Knights are my heroes. I aspire to be just like Del Murder. And I have posters of Leeza on my wall, which goes well with my Yamaneko bedspread. Plus my Big D wallpaper on my PC is pretty cool. I also love the walrus which Xander sent me, which I will treasure forever!Looks like all his dreams came true this Christmas.
