Well, first make sure you have atleast 200 BP if your going for omnislash, it will probably take 7-10 wins to get the necessary points, I usually play the bball game since it is very easy to get the hang of. I was at lvel 50-55 (about 5,000-6,000 hp) on the second disk when I went for omnislash, watch the slots closely and pack alot of remedies, maidens kiss and whatever the potion it is that counters the mini spell. some times the slots are just against you and you will lose just have alot of spare BP, the monsters I would have trouble with would be the two headed zombie thing and the dragon, but if you are prepared every other beast is a breeze, o and make sure your characters are very close to preforming their limits since it will help you in the final fight were your could be extremely hurtin by the affects of the slots.

It will be very easy with Cloud's ultimate weapon. When the slots roll, press Square many times, it will make the slots go slower. So just pick the best slot each time. Keeping your items is vital.

Regen is your friend, cast it as soon as you can.
Big Guard enemy skill is also very useful.
Win Elixirs at the Cocobo races and use them.
Wear Ribbons and good armor.
Use Sources to raise Colud's stats (found by morphing various monster in the sunken plane).

As stated before, ake sure you have ALOT of BP going into the Battle Arena.

MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT LEAVE THE ARENA!!!!!!!!!

I did this with like 100 or so points away from I believe it was Omnislash. Boy I don't think I was more pissed in my life:hot:

A ribbon can really help. And carring different types of materia and items to cover common problems is good. That way if you lose one way you at least got one other. Common for me is using restore in conjunction with Enemy Skill and potions. All heal, though some have other purposes as well(regen on cure for example). Enemy Skill, items, and the ribbon can cover status afflictions.

Basically make sure your bases are covered. The monsters are easy pickings it is the slots that can screw you up. Thus you need to be equiped for the slots, not neccesarily the monsters(they die one way or the other).

But basically a full range of items, the enemy skill materia, the restore materia, and a HP plus or to. Are all ones I always have on for this. Makes it fairly easy.

However, I don't know the easiness for doing it when I am trying now. First Disc before Temple of the Ancients. No Ribbon... and I lack some of the stronger materia. Perhaps some difficulty might ensue(I hate frog status btw, particually combined with the no item slot).

As for the GP, I am planing to have at least 200+. No way do I want to do what the poster above me did(don't worry it has happened to me before as well :()

Beach Plugs on the beaches near Gongada. You need to Manipulate them.

I think you mean GP. BP is the stuff you get in the Battle Square.

use barret with his missing score and deck him out with mastered command and independent materia... ribbon and zeidrich/shinra alpha.

Use Cloud with Half Limit, Ultimate Weapon, Regen, Big Guard, Ribbon, any armor (pref Escort Guard or Ziedrich), a command mateia (pref 2x Cut) and independent materia (long rang, counter, HP plus), 255 power sources (morph the tanks in gongaga with conformer). If that doesn't work, praying is also good... :D

4x cut is better and you don't need to have 255 strength...

ENTER WITH LOTS OF BP!! :) there's nothing worse than being almost there but not finishing the job because of something as paltry as BP. Buy a lot from the shady guy at the cable car landing. Try doing it when Omnislash's value is halved (disc2-3), give Cloud Sprint Shoes, Slash-All for easy killings and near his limit. But don't use the limit till the final boss (the 8th) :) You can give him Mug as well so he can use that to attack if his bar fills. Equip some strong, effective magic just in case your weapon becomes sucky, something like Contain Magic or Ultima. Enemy Skill is vital (because of Big Guard, saves a lot of time). First battle don't kill your enemies yet, they're weak so use the time to cast Big Guard, Regen and Resist (not sure - auto-Esuna?). Keep your these 3 up, especially Big Guard and REGEN because if you're forced into a bad status Resist won't do anything against it. :) Keep yourself in good status with items, if you get in a petrify countdown use a soft. Actually it's all about just how much BP you hava and you'll get it eventually. :) The points just build up.

W-SUMMON tho is another story..yargh. But I figure if you can get Omnislash's points once you can do it twice, then you can get W-summon. Haha. :)

It will be very easy with Cloud's ultimate weapon. When the slots roll, press Square many times, it will make the slots go slower. So just pick the best slot each time. Keeping your items is vital.
This way, you'll receive fewer or no handicaps at all. By doing this, you won't receive many points after the battle. The severe handicaps makes you deserve many points.

It seems that de summon or magic handicap is crucial in order to receive the most battlepoints.
I once purposely pressed the button, receiving the heaviest handicap. I got almost 15000 battlepoints after.

make sure you have a ribbon equipped on cloud. You don't want any status ailments like frog, mini or confu!, don't use much materia. First of all, master a counterattack materia, a luck plus materia and deathblow materia. That way every time cloud is being attacked, he will 100% counterattack. With the mastered luckplus you are sure that a deathblow ALWAYS hits.

But it depends what kinda stuff (weapons and armor) you have. I had Organics as cloud's weapon, Aurora Armlet for armor and a Ribbon for accessory.

Weapon: Apocalypse
Armor: Ziedrich
Accessory: Ribbon.

You can only equip 3 materia's. Equip enemy skill (for big guard), Cure (for regen) and a mastered Counter attack. it is quite usefull for myself, since Ziedrich armor has the highest value's on attack/defense and magic attack/defense.

When I battled for the omnislash, I had the organics and Aurora armlet and the Ribbon.

Deathblow (master) -> to attack when you want to spare your limitbreak for a stronger enemy.
LuckPlus (master) -> to make the deathblow always hit.
CounterAttack(master) -> to counterattack EVERY time an enemy hits you.
Cure -> up to Level 3 for REGEN yourself.
Enemy Skill -> for Big Guard [Barrier/MBarrier/Haste]

Fight in the wutai area first and encounter some bird look-a-likes which casts lighting (bolt2). Every time you have a yello looking butterfly with it, you'll receive an X-Potion. Make sure you have a lot of these. If so, then you should not equip the cure materia when going into the battle arena.
Maybe it's desirable for yourself to equip more materia. But my advice is: learn as many enemyskills as possible (these are also magic attacks!) and use enemyskill magic if you want to cast magic spells.
That way you only have 5 materia as displayd above (or 4 if you have enough XPotions to exclude the cure materia).

So you have only yellow and purple materia. So if the spinning wheels indicatie materia handicap (severe handicap!), you can click the wheels to disable your summon and magic materia, which causes no damage for you, but you'll gain hell of a lot points after the battle.

With the Ribbon included, you do not need to worry about any status ailments. Just make sure you don't get your armor/accessory broken or yellow/purple materia gets disabled and of curse your item command (you use this one for curing yourself with xpotions).

metaria handicap and mini/frog causes the hardest handicaps (thus the most battlepoints)

I'm having trouble with this as well. Would you suggest having Heaven's Cloud (or something like that) for a weapon, Escourt Guard for Armor, and Ribbon for Accessory?

weapon heaven's cloud is ok or Apocalyse. Armor...i would suggest ZIEDRICH (steal from rude) or Mystile. Escort Guard is fine. As long as you keep the Ribbon in mind!

i just equiped cloud with ultimate weapon , ziedrich armour , ribbon and mastered counter attack (purple) , enemy skill (with big guard), 4x slash and restore ( with regen) and as many hp / mp plus's as i needed and bought as many ethers as i could (just in case). I just cast regen and big guard on while i was on the first monster and the only handicaps you really have to worry about are accessory and weapon break. Did anyone here use any items at all? (except ether) and do handicaps still give you points if you have an accessory that cancels them out or if you've had that handicapp more than once?

slash-all helps too...its in the ancient forest.

i hardly used items; as i had a ribbon on, but i did if it was broken by a handicap. (i already cloned 99 of everything i could use:D )

hades+added effect to cloud's blade helps too. (nothing like a confused, bioed, frog!:p )

If you have an accessory equipped that counteracts the status effect you get from a slot roll, it does not take effect.

i know, like if i got "accessory broken", then i would use the items . (thats what i meant.):choc2:

nope I didn't :)

Make sure your limit break is almost full before you enter the arena. The first 3 enemies won't harm you that much. So after that, i cannot 2x cut or slash all anymore, because of the limit break. So i'll let the counter attack materia take over (100% counter attack) and i'll keep attacking with deathblow (every deathblow hits due to the mastered luckplus). in the mean time, i'll heal myself and cast big guard. The limit break i save for the "rougher" enemies.

yeah but you know you get more points for the greater handicap you get, do you still get the points if your accessory cancels it out? (eg mini with ribbon)

ack...I lost patience and went straight to Sephiroth, I got lucky once, maybe it'll happen again. I managed to beat him the first time i tried, but my brother turned off the ps2 before I could see the ending :(
I haven't been able to since. Now what did I do different that first time...

Yes, although the ribbon prevents you to go in any abnormal status, you DO get the battlepoints if you select a handicap such as mini or toad. I tested it so no doubt here :)

I am trying to get the final attack materia, but I don't know how to get it. I have the omnislash and the w-summon already. But when will i be asked for the special battle (for the final attack materia) ?
