If you can't do it, you can't do it. My Mum and I used to do this all the time, we'd run through a couple of seconds from the start of a song and see if we could name it. If you listen to music enough, you can do it pretty well - Gigs got a few already and has a few hunches that are in the right direction to top 'em off.

Well, yes, that would be the point. :) Over half have been recognised and half have been guessed already, though.

EDIT: And I'd bet money on my Mum getting over half of them without problem. ;) I'm not too bad at it either, so long as I've heard the song enough, I can guess it from a second or two.

EDIT: I just tested myself by hiding the areas of my screen showing what songs were playing and playing a second of them each at random - of my 2,607 songs on the playlist I guessed about three quarters correctly. :D I did about 20-30 songs.
