Anyway, there is already FF XI. Why waste good money just to have an online game based on Final Fantasy VIII.

listen i play FFXI online it is a good game superb in everyway time taking hard to level yes i have always wanted ff8 or another of there games to go online but not fully i say that if they ever do that you should just go online none of the main parts together just like see each other in towns and chat that would be ok but FFXI is already there so if they just did that with 8 it would be ok abd not make it go overboard and they could not have to worry about bugs and servers massives of people cause it would be just a ok chatting and seeing game but it may not work cause then they would have to make everyone look diifrent like other charactors and they may never get other things done good idea tho maybe one day it could happen but till that time comes stick to your dream ^_^

Now what will really boggle your mind is whether or not my virtual reality machine is a real mechanical horse or if it is a virtual device itself, allowing your FFVIII Online character to play FFVIII Online. :p

I would choose a glave. That is a 8 foot monster with 6 feet of steel to cleave your enimies. Not clouds sword.

Something like this will never, ever happen because FFVIII came out in like, 1999 or something, right? It's over 6 years old. Square is through with the game. Plus there's already FFXI, so yeah.

But ffVII obviously came out before ffVIII, and Square certainly aren't through with that game.

Personally, I'd rather that they didn't try to add something to the FFVIII canon--look at FFVII, and the troubles it has with Last Order and Advent Children tweaking what, in-game, was canon. FFVIII is quite fine as it is. Personally, I think that if you want more FFVIII, you should write it, or roleplay it.

I would support a online version of FFVIII cause then all the fanboys named Squuaallxx in FFXI would leave the game to go frolick with the other fanboys and fangirls in FFVIII Online and the rest of us would rejoice. And the world of Vanadiel would enter into a new age of bliss, harmony and intelligence. Rejoice!

that would be cool but the main reason that i dont like these internet FFs is that they are very expensive and i need those shineys to make other things shiney.

An online FFVIII would'nt work. The game would have little in common with the original. The plot and characters would have to be completely new, since messing with the original characters and story would be suicidal. The only things that would be from FFVIII would be the world and areas, the history, and the Junction system. And let's face it, as great as the game is, the Junction system was not the best of the FF systems.
