I've noticed a hell load of metal music fans, so which bands are your favourites and why, you can say other bands suck aslong as you explain it and stuff...

My favourite Band would Be Metallica with Slayer coming up Second.
Metallica Have some great lyrics and Hetfield sings pretty good but when you listen to him in "S&M" the album from 1999 live with the San Francisco Symphony Orchastra you'll see how powerful his lyrics can be, The guitars from Hammet and Newstead are good even though Newstead left and was replaced with with Robert Trujillo, Cliff Burton, one hell of a bassist and will never be forgotten, now what are your oppinions and your favourite Metal bands?

I prefer the Faster genres of Metal, faster and heavier guitars with powerful words = ownage IMO.

My favourite metal band has to be Black Sabbath, followed closely by Metallica. However, if you consider Tool metal (I personally don't, but a lot of people seem to) then they're my favourite band.

I'm not much of a metal fan myself, but Black Sabbath have given so much to the genre that they deserve all the praise they get. Tony Iommi has written some of the greatest riffs in rock (Iron Man, Paranoid, N.I.B) music and inspired tons of young guitar players, myself included.

Fav. Metal / Hard Rock

I Love Children of Bodom right up until Alexi left:cry:, I like Black Label Society because Zakk Wylde is the man (even in rockstar I love that movie), I like Arch Enemy because the lead singer is a girl!!! and shes really cute even if she can sing like that! As I Lay Dying has the fastest double bass drummer I have ever seen in person, Lamb of God because they are the best I have seen in concert, Throwdown because they rock and their moshpits is like watching real life street fighter, Nevermore (the River Dragon solo makes my poop myself) and Killswitch Engage, Unearth, Dark Lunacy, God Forbid, Pantera, Alice in Chains and In Flames just because they are sweet.

Sorry I couldnt just choose a few I like them all too much...Hehe alice in chains and in flames, I rhymed!

Alexi hasn't left, he's the singer, writer and lead guitarist, it wouldn't be CoB without him. Are you on about that other guitarist who was called Alexander or something?

I love Black Metal and Viking Metal

Children of Bodom is an awsome band, but I noticed since their album "Follow The Reaper" they have totally changed become more of an American NuMetal band like Disturbed, KoRn or whatever than a Melodic Death Metal/Black band that they used to be.

Haha, Slade. Hahahaha.

I think I can honestly say that Kamelot are becoming my favorite metal band, I mean honestly, I hate the typical "(fl)power" metal band, but Kamelot are so much different from them all. They know how to use their symphonic elements properly, not to much, and not to little. The guitars are never really annoyingly soaring, and the keyboards know their place as well. Drums are usually very well done, not a huge stream of double bass, and in fact The Black Halo had ALOT of high hat hits, and less double bass.

Roy Khan has an amazing voice, it is incredibly smooth, and does not go to the typical super high voice that most power metal vocalists have.

This is easily the perfect power metal band, and simply one of the best metal bands of all time too.

Considered that I mostly listen to Black and Viking/Folk metal, I think that is really saying something.

Anyways, The Black Halo = AOTY.

EDIT of metal blasphemy: I hate Opeth. Black Sabbath released their best albums when Dio was with them. Children of Bodom have sucked since FTR. Reign in Blood is horribly boring. Master of Puppets is boring as hell as well. Angela Glossow is THE MOST OVERRATED VOCALIST IN MELO-DEATH EVER, simply because she is a horrid vocalist, not because she is a woman. Pantera have NEVER released a good album. Megadeth released one good album, Rust In Peace.

Metal is different to each person. While they aren't your particular cup of tea, Crushed Hope, they are in fact metal, just a different subgenre than your liking(except for MCR, I don't know how the hell they would ever be metal). Metallica and Slayer are, in your opinion, crappy. But that doesn't mean other people share your opinion (I for one do), and since they're the most known or thrown around bands out there it's no wonder that they dominate the genre. It's all marketing.

Trivium - Modern Hardcore, some metal influence.
Bullet For My Valentine - Modern Hardcore
SOAD - Alt. Rock (Nu-metal, I suppose works as well)
Machine Head - Modern Hardcore
Roadrunner United - No idea, but I'm sure there are at least 2 metal songs on there, being King Diamond is helping it.
Slipknot - Hardrock /w some metal and hardcore influences
Murderdolls - Nu-metal
Wednesday 13 - "
My Chemical Romance - Pop-rock

Metal? that's not metal that's pure awesome!!

No, that band wouldn't be able to function properly. I chose artists who know how to play the same style of music, and would have a chemistry that would allow them to be a good band.

Halford's vocals do not suit the guitar work that Hetfield does, which also clashes with how Randy play. The bass is about all that would work in this band really.

Hetfield on Vocals, Lombardo on drums, Cliff at Bass and Hanneman on Guitar. That's a pretty strong band, or you could Shove Musatine in.

I like Musatine, He only got kicked from Metallica because he was an alcoholic party animal and made James look sober.

I think Mustaine is the better party animal, in the party animal category.

lol, Musatine and Hetfield are so similar but Hetfield sounds better and Musatine parties and drinks better.

Musatine and Hetfield should start a band, Metallica is falling in the heavy department.

Mustaine is a fucking dick now, I've never liked James, and well yeah. Both bands are really bad right now.

I hate supergroups almost as a rule, since they tend to suck.

Only ones I know that have ever worked are Bloodbath and Diabolical Masquerade.

Haha. I don't see that happening. A lot of people in the metal world seems to hate Dave Mustaine.

That's kind of why I like him, but I still say he should've just gotten over it years ago.

Bloodbath did indeed work.

I just hope they find a vocalist who is as good as Peter. Though, I would like to see Blakkheim take vocals up on a few tracks, if and when a new album is recorded.

Hetfield is even more nuts than me and that's a rarity.

James is an excellent singer and Dave is an excellent guitarist, he never sings near perfect for many songs though...
