wtf how much do i have to pay this guy to get him to zanmato?

i treid 20k and he just used a wakizashi

I'm afraid he needs the cash to fuel his hi-potion addiction.

However, you can lower the required cash for zanmato by improving your relationship with him.

You should avoid letting him use his dog to attack, dying or is withdrawing him from battle since that lowers your relationship points with him. Using other attacks improves your relationship.

You can't definitely summon him with a fixed cash amount in the north american version. You can in PAL, but it's awful high.

Just start off paying him low, and never pay him less. Eventually he'll start doing zanmoto often, and wakizashi.

he almost always does wakazashi for me... i dont care that he lowers the req cash i just want to know how much i need to pay him

There is no set number. He is more likely to use it while in Overdrive, so take advantage of that. Also (as previously stated) improving your relationship with him increases your chances.

I used 1k gil each time, 5k if I wanted a favour, that's the minimum to get his relationship up.

Thats what I do and he does Zanmato on every random battle but Dark aeons or bosses he never does it.:( Do bare in mind that I have killed 4 dark aeons and I have used him commonly so I probably have lots of relationship points:)

to increase relationship
1. don't let him use his dog attack
2. never pay him 0 gil
3. paying him at least 1/2 ur funds will always raise it quite a bit
4. paying him at least 1/2 ur funds while hes has his overdrive is very beneficial

it's really quite sketchy....basically it's something like.... if he uses Wakizashi, Zanmato or Kozuka your relationship will go up. If he uses Diagoro it goes down.... Practice with Yojimbo and reset the game if he used diagoro..(save first though..of course) after a while your relationship level will improve and he'll use Zanmato more often...

if you just give him about 100K hell be using good moves constantly. if it a hard enemy or boss i think it lowers the chance of a zanmato. i cant cant be bothered to spend hours leveling to be strong enough to fight the dark aeons so i just use yojimbo and i had to give him 100K to make him zanmato shiva at full overdrive and usually he just does that when i summon him so im sure if your fighting a strong opponent it lowers the chances.

yup.. he says "You alone know my true worth you are a summoner worth guarding" You get a few Luck spheres i think and I think he may be a bit stronger or more likely to use Zanmato.

thats when you bribe him to join you i suppose. i think he meant what would happen if you summon him then pay him that amount. i suppose what would happen is ever time you summon him hed use zanmato u less its a boss which cant be zanmatoed. how did you get 999999999 gil though. was it a gameshark or action replay or just hours on hours fighting mimes in the omega ruins with gillionare?

Why does he even need money? He's a Fayth, and they can't use money anymore.

I have payed him over a million gil before, only to get Wakizashi! Pissed me off too! I currently have probably 500,000,000 or so. (If you REALLY want to know...I have over 220 hours logged in my FFX main file, so I have lots of gil)

I usually pay yojimbo about 1mil, restart if he doesnt use zanmato, and try again. Its usually takes about 10 tries, but maybe thats just me...?

I spent ages trying to get him to use Zanmato on Dark Valefor. I had missed out on the thingymajig in the temple and had to go back for Anima an Magus Sisters. He was in overdrive. 24500000gil and almost 60 tries, nothin. My friend used 1gil, no overdrive and Zanmato. I even had good relationship points.

Well I beat most of the dark aeons without zanmato, but some of them (like magus sisters, anima and penance) were much easier to just finish off with zanmato.:D

actually u can get zanmato for 1 gil vs a dingo or sumthing coz each monster has a zanmato lvl 1-5 the higher the lvl the more you have to pay him to do it. So dark aeons are the highest along with oenance and stuff so you have to pay him lots more but it also depends on your relationship and stuff.

i wont disagree with that. i feel so bad about using zanmato on nearly every boss when i got yojimbo. now i feel so cheap.

Just LET Yojimbo pay 1-2 million Gil to use Zanmato. I let Yojimbo pay 1.4m-1.7m gil to use Zanmato.

I always give him 3/4 of the gil i have (or jus over half of what i have). for example 548925. I would give him 334513 roughly. Zamnato always works for me.

he probly meant 10,000,000 or one gil below one hundred million which i believe is the maximum amount you can hold.
