View Full Version : BoB's Stats Thread

Loony BoB

I have one of these in the Staff Forum, figured I may as well make a new one here where you guys can see it. For all you stats freaks like myself.

Here we have members by year born and posts made in the last year (the file called 'longversion' is 2362 pixels wide).

The staff forum one is full of postcounts and stuff that I can't let you people see. :)

EDIT: Feel free to request stats, too, although I can't promise you'll get the ones you ask for I might be able to come up with some of them.

For one thing, you can't use a pie chart for a single statistic such as what you guys (Bert, PiP) have requested. Silly ding dongs. For another thing, no. :p

C'mon, less debate over which year is cooler and more stats requests!

You want to know stats about coolness? You're all approximately 37/98 degrees (37 or 98 depending on celsius or farenheit), which is considered to be warm/hot. So none of you are cool. Now be more nerdy like me so I can do statsy stuff. Or else I suppose I can just keep all stats to the staff forum (or myself) as usual.

And since I'm not home and don't have my Calvin image for the moment, Charlie Brown will have to do. :(

There is no point. '90's would dominate so much that you couldn't see any of the other ones. We all know this.

What about something kinda like #eoff chat stats, where they have the top 50 (or so) posters in a week, how many posts they made, and a random quote? Updated weekly of course. :D

EDIT: For GC.

Loony BoB
01-05-2006, 01:26 PM
Sorry, this isn't going to be an ongoing thing, it's just a thread where if something seems interesting enough (and is possible) then I go into the database and, using Excel, come up with whatever stats I'm able to. I won't be doing any updating of stats once they're done, though.

EDIT: Also, what you're wanting would cause a hell of a lot of spamming in the forums, which would be no good.

Primus Inter Pares
01-05-2006, 01:29 PM
BoB, you know full well that no post count is an excuse to spam. (well you should)

And, how about post per month thing with a pie chart of which forums are the most active.

A chart comparing my post count to the most frequent posters post count (and all the members in between) in three month increments starting from October 04 until the present.

Well at least we're all hot, so never mind. And BoB, your stats are incorrect, I know you said approximately, but since the temperature here is more like 27/80, I think your just a bit too far out for that stand. I hope such guess work doesn't go into all of your stats.

I said you, not the air around you. :)

PiP: I should be able to do something for recent times - say the past year? Going back longer than that will cause some forums to lose out as they might not have been around that long (although I'm not sure on this, I don't keep close track of when forums are started).

hero: I'm avoiding blatant individual postcount stuff as these forums don't show postcounts for a reason. =]

2005, then 2004, then 2003, then 2002, then 2001, then 2000, then 1999.

That was too easy. ;) I don't think I could do a pie chart on that, though, as the posts for the early years are all but gone.

Seconded.

Loony BoB
01-05-2006, 02:24 PM
Regarding the crash thing: Not as many as eestlinc. :)

EDIT: Pie and chart - I decided to use a chart for the past year rather than putting all the info onto the pie graph as that way I can put more information in. Only the top forums are in the key because I couldn't be bothered fixing up the legend since the chart tells you the info on the smaller ones better. :D

Some forums were removed in all o' this, such as the Eizon forums. The Project's posts were merged into the Site Staff posts, since all Project threads are just completed Site Staff threads.

FACT: eestlinc made more posts in 2005 than over half of EoFF's forums received in the same time period.

I don't think it can be anything peculiar because ive got some of my hospital records, and the lowest temperature ive got is 90, which is obviously not much higher than I am now, so I think if it was unsually low the nurses would have mentioned it.

Too many people have merged threads and/or multiple threads for me to bother figuring that one out. Also, a few of them are longer purely due to the disucssion of states beginning with vowels and whether or not they actually exist and other such important staff matters.

Anaisa
01-05-2006, 03:22 PM
Yeah, it is unusually low. Most people die if their temperature falls below 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
 Id assume it was my thermometer that must be broken but since it says on my hospital records that my temperature was only 92 at one point, it seems a bit unusual that they would both be wrong. But my little sister has just checked her temperature with the same thermometer and hers is 99, is that normal, or is my thermometer broken? But it still says that mine is only 93, so if my thermometer and you are right, then I should be dead!

Flying Mullet

There is no point. '90's would dominate so much that you couldn't see any of the other ones. We all know this.

No it wouldn't, 87 and 90 would both dominate in equal amounts, and the rest would just be so minute we wouldn't be able to see any of them. My mum, her mum, and my little sister have all taken their temperatures now, and it appears to be working on them because none of them are below 98, but it still is reading that im 93! Now this means im officially cool,:) but on the other hand, it also means im not hot :(.

Loony BoB
01-05-2006, 07:35 PM
bennator: I'm pretty sure those stats are already open for viewing here (http://www.big-boards.com/board/1451/).

The top 100 members thing is possible to work out but would require me going through the posts of every one of the top 100 posters, and that's something not even I am willing to go through with.

I can find the male vs. female one without much hassle at all, I'll add that to the list of things to check out.

I'm not sure on how easy/difficult the year vs. year stuff would be. I'll look into that a bit more when my mind isn't as occupied as it is right now.

With 100 labelled names? I don't think so! That's bad gravy, man. Something I figured out during a discussion about our new admin. :)

25th November 2001
20 Staffers.
192,428 posts.
11,775 threads.
3,044 members.

7th January 2006, over four years later.
18 Staffers. (5% decrease)
1,476,384 posts. (767% increase)
76,979 threads. (654% increase)
20,038 members. (658% increase)

So! We should have about 658% more staffers than 20, so that's... 131.6 staffers. :D Haha.

From #eoff on Jan 10th...

[11:55] <Loony_BoB> Tied, in 17th place, fire_of_avalon and Xander, both with four bans a piece!
[11:55] <Loony_BoB> In 16th sits ShlupQuack, with five bans to her name!
[11:56] <Loony_BoB> Kishi, being one of the longest term staffers, has banned only six members since the banlogs included "Banned by" fields!
[11:56] <Loony_BoB> rubah, one of the newer Knights, has so far managed seven, putting her at 14th!
[11:57] <Loony_BoB> But you (talking to clout at the time) still got eight bans! Same as Big D, making you 12th equal~
[11:57] <Loony_BoB> New mod Hsu equals RSL's tally of nine bans! 10th position tied with them!
[11:58] <Loony_BoB> 9th goes to Behold the Void, sliding his name up the ranks!
[11:58] <Loony_BoB> kikimm has kik'ed 12 members - 8th place secured!
[11:59] <Loony_BoB> But Necro has done three better, managing 15 bans to put him in at 7th!
[11:59] <Loony_BoB> Del Murder has pushed a solid 18 members out of EoFF, meaning he's in 6th!
[12:00] <Loony_BoB> 5th is someone who we've not seen around for a while - m4tt managed a good 21 bans
[12:01] <Loony_BoB> eternal essence's "queen of the bans" is indeed the queen, being the highest in the bancounts when it comes to the female gender - 25 bans, 4th place!
[12:02] <Loony_BoB> 29 bans go to myself, putting me in at #3!
[12:02] <Loony_BoB> You think he doesn't do anything, but you're wrong! Yams spends his time in the forums banning people, with 33 to his name so far, putting him in at second!
[12:03] <Loony_BoB> And rumour has it that not even EoFF Sniper has taken out more members than eestlinc, the #1 staffer for bans in less than a year on staff at EoFF, with a mighty 35! Don't piss eest off, or he'll get you.

Also: Approximately one in every 40 EoFF members is banned.

I bet Yams does nothing but watch for people to ban. Those that he's too lazy to ban (the vast majority), he sends to eestlinc.

When Good Mads Get MadI know this is supposed to say when Good Mods Get Mad, but when did EoFF ever have any good mods? Still, I agree about them going mad... :p

I think Unne mentioned something recently about Leeza going mad with power. He's probably right.

You have to remember, though, that most of my bans come from forum attacks consisting of mass porn posting and the like.

I probably banned some people before it kept track of who did the banning.

Can we plz get some cool stats. I would like to see how much most of us super vets have posted over years. I wonder if you could do a graph of posting activity for how active vets have been over the years from the start to the end. Like posts per day. I think crazy crap like that would be interesting.

Sixteenth? Pfft. When you start doing that adminning me on weekends thing we discussed I'll be sure to dedicate some time on Saturdays to banning.

How many have I banned? It has to be in the tens of thousands. Or else the MB wasn't counting during my dark reign of bannage.

Yamaneko

It didn't count before the vB3 upgrade.

Leeza

Then my count must be higher than yours, Yams. :)

If every Zodiac Year had a color, the Monkey would be Purple. Proof in the first chart of Loony Bob's first post. >_>

Nice charts, my friend.

35! Yes! Many of those are from the "loony bob penetrated me" banfest. I think the first person I ever banned was Rasputen.

They had to fight for their baby and support that love child, so it's no wonder loony bob impregnated me is as tough as steel. No one will bring them down!

Close, though.
